What if the car had been maintained and cleaned properly? It would be tight and not as awful as this one is. It would still not be luxurious or fast but it's a very cheap and big fun way to travel. It's history on wheels. There is no fear of scraching or something like that. Repairs can be done by anyone.

Friend of my younger brother used to have one of these, in the late 80s or early 90s. I rode in it at least once, was a good cheap car for a teen back then. Didn't know about the front driver seat. Cuncussion every time you approach a red light? Contemptible Yugoslavian engineers.

Switches on the dash look exactly like in every other Fiat based Communist car; -) Lada, Polski Fiat 125p, Polonez, Fiat 126p, Zastava 1100. Everything was the same back in the 70's to the early 2000's. Lada Niva [4x4] is still using some of the old, good Fiat 124 equipment; -)

I am from North Macedonia (Yugoslavia) we make difrent yougos for usa our cars has maunted back light and silver interior and interior lights light up when you open the door and we have more parts for yugo and thats whay on my grandma's yougo evrytig works

Don't knock the Yugo. That was my first car and it got me work, started in the snow and in 10 years never broke down once. Bought a Clio after that for quite a lot of money, it broke down, the electrics were dodgy and the cambelt went within the first year.

My uncle had a brand new '88. He got a flat, and, made the mistake of jacking it up with the door still open. He had to take it to his friend's body shop, and, put it on the frame straightener to get the door to close again.

The design and the interior really don't look much worse than any mid 80's VW Golf, Renault 5 or other small Euro car. The rest is just the result of 30+ years of continuous use and no maintenance.
