Doug you can't even off road drive lol. Why bother with a Defender. Watching you bash into that rocky articulated obstacle rather than engage your lockers and slowly be guided by your spotter to crawl it, made myself and my husband both cringe a bit. Ohhh Doug lol. Edit: I have been trying to pick which expensive SUV to buy. I wasn't sure how I felt about Range Rover (which I test drove 2days ago, and have been thinking the Toyota Land Cruiser will be a better choice. Seeing how comfortable the RR looks off road, i'm definitely impressed. Decisions decisions.

I drove a the latest Landy on a training day for work followed by a Defender. The new Landy is awesome - all bells and whistles. The Defender was crude and the hand brake reminded me of one of those old railway signal boxes. There was no chance to relax, just thinking how to tackle the next scarey obstruction but I loved the Defender Can you do a film on the Panda 4x4s? In used everywhere in European mountains from the 1980s onwards. Amazing little trucks.

Nice D90, Doug A family member had a 1997 D90 Station Wagon as they called it (really just a hard top) and put 100, 000 miles on it and sold it - wish he hadn't VERY glad to see you are driving yours off road An F150 with a lift would be better on these trails than the Raptor - 35 inch tires, but limited ground clearance. Also, you and the Raptor should lose the BFG A/Ts for some MTs like Nitto. Have fun with it, great video

The defender 90 is basic and rough round the edges but they are great fun. Ive had a few in the past, even a brand new one. you have to keep on top of the maintenance and watch out for rust (I always sprayed under mine with waxoil to save them)Its is a shame how the build quality can be so poor on all the Land rover range but they are such a popular 4x4 here in the UK too.

when you are offroading any of the land rover product from that era, not only you have to use the centre diff lock it is also recommended to install air-locker to rear diff too. Then it will surprise you REMEMBER you should not let the centre differential turn freely YOU MUST LOCK it when you are on loose surfaces otherwise you will damage the centre diff

Doug? You probably will not read this but. use differential lock the next time a wheel is in the air, this was why you got stuck on the rock slope. Not more speed, make use of the traction. Then this thing climbes like a mountain goat. We use one to reach my uncles alpine pasture in the Austrian Mountains. Greetings from there btw and enjoy the Rover.

70K for a terrible vehicle that rides like shit, rattles and squeaks all over the place, heater doesn't work and he check engine light is on. I guess for a Land Rover this is considered good. The British always built peices of shit vehicles, I don't get the love, unless you happen to be British.

Land Rovers especially the Defenders were made over here in Britain for the army, Coastguard, Police, All Sorts of Company Wildlife Parks, Zoo's and Theme Parks They were also built for the public But Offloading is there nature. Army has used them in Iraq and Afganistan
