My Range Rover recently broke down again -- this time rather seriously. That means it's time for another CarMax warranty update Chris Reed: One of my friends who has always had higher end cars. had a 1999 Mercedes C280 Sport black on black back in 2001. He did buy the extra Mercedes Starmark warranty. they paid out over the course of the warranty over 19K on repairs He loved to get the loaner cars though. He had a Range Rover given as a gift from a client once(nice clients. he sold it as the warranty was up He knew what a money pit they were. Every car even the 2012 BMW he bought in 2014 he bought the extended warranty. I said I don't think you will get any use from the BMW warranty as they are good cars. WRONG It's been in the shop many times as well Thanks to Doug's video I can confirm that Range Rover is a unreliable auto

You were fortunate to have a warranty because you apparently got a bad one. mine is now 16 yrs old with 126k miles. never had warranty, and not had even close to the problems youve had. I love mine and it just runs and runs. I have not had to fix anything out of the ordinary. in fact, in the past 2 years, it has only been to the shop for brakes, and a transmission filter/fluid change. lastly, someone is screwing CarMax because some on those repairs cost no where near what they were charged. when its out of warranty, get a new mechanic

There is no way that they paid out more than the value if the vehicle, limits of liability are applied to all warranty plans even through the dealerships, once you exceed your LOL, the contract is voided where as this leaves the consumer to pay out of pocket for additional costs whether its that repair or for extended coverage As the vehicle is an 06, I'm wondering on miles? Based on a Nationwide Scale, coverage limitations are based solely on age and milage of the vehicle at time of purchase of the vehicle or for extended coverage

They paid cause your Doug. and have a huge following on YouTube. do a YouTube show on all those still trying to get Carmax to pay under their extended warranty coverage. I know a few folks with Carmax care and and car-shield they have been fighting them tooth and nail for repairs supposedly under warranty. they will find any excuse not to pay when they can. love your videos but I wish youd do a real good one on extended car care warranties

For years and years (prior to Tata owning Land Rover ). Land rovers were known as the bonnet up club (hood up ) for you Americans as they were always broken down at the side of the road whilst the rest of the world cruised by in their japanese (and others ) rivals. I know the quality did improve after Tata bought them but I don't know if it is up to the best of the competition these days?

I have an 05 Land Rover LR3. I must have gotten really lucky. I have 170k miles on it and have only had the suspension air compressor go out (350 from eBay and 45 minutes to replace, a pulley (12 and a few hours, alternator (270. The transmission is starting to shift hard but so far nothing major. Since I am writing this it will probably blow up on my way to work later today.

Maybe it's just me but I can't stand the styling & image of the recent generation RR's. Bloated, overweight, unreliable & usually driven by complete a-holes. Such a departure from the elegant sharp lines and genteel image of the original. Today - I'd take a big Chevy SUV/Wrangler or even an equally unreliable Escalade over these anyday.

Wow first time seeing this and this is literally my exact situation. I bought a 2007 Chevy avalanche and I paid 18 or 19. The truck literally had 2 engines, trans, and bunch of other work. Roughly 20k worth of work. I saw Scotty Kilmer talkin shit about car max warranty and Im like dude youre crazy lol. Glad you covered this

A Range Rover is just another status symbol. Sure there not that reliable- but wealthy people buy them anyway. I owned one before. I wouldn't mind buying one again just to add to our fleet. They are the most capable off road vehicle next to Subaru. So why not have that advantage- if you decide to go off road?
