Its not the same car. Night n day brakes, suspension tuned for the track, cooling elements that are extremely expensive to replicate, carbon fiber in a bunch of places that ud prob spend 7 to 10k to replicate, 70 plus hp but it can easily be made even faster, the limited number produced, roll cage which is expensive af to replicate, if u actually do the numbers n attempted (for the sake of argument) to make a reg m4 exactly like this ud prob spend 100k buuuuuut ud have a bunhc of brand nee mr parts that will absolutely sell one day for top dollar for sure

The wing and gold are hideously tacky. Reminds me of how immigrant kids pimp out their Honda Civics, but without the DIY ingenuity. At least those kids are using their skills to the make the most of what little they have. On the other hand, I think we can all guess who the M4 GTS is aimed at. If you've visited any State University in recent years you've surely seen the nouveau riche Chinese sons buzzing around campus in their expensive sports cars while their hired surrogates attend class and take tests for them. That's the target market.

I don't get why there is so much hate around this car, it's a highly tuned M4 that you can buy out of the factory instead of giving it to a tuner. Yes when you go from high perfomance to very high the price gets silly, nothing unusual about that. As Doug points out it's the same thing as for a GT3RS or GT2RS. As a Nordschleife entousiaste I totally see the point of this car. Saying this car makes you think of a riced M4 is just a matter of not being able to make the distinction between a real race car and a silly fake one.

So your telling me that for the price of(135k) this overpriced BM'er I can buy 2 of the following AMERICAN cars a 65k 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon with 707 h. p/ 600 ft-lb torque---- 65k 2018 Camaro ZL-1 with 650 h. p. /600ft-lb torque AND a 55k 2018 Mustang GT500 with 526 h. p. /429 ft-lb torque. I'm sorry but for 135k for the BMW I'd buy BOTH the Camaro and Mustang (120k) and still have 15, 000 left over. Why are the German cars always over priced(plus seems like only -holes drive BM'ers and AUDI's.

I'm sorry Doug. but this car makes no sense. Not pragmatically and not even as a dedicated petrolhead. Just buy an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, that managed to get that kind of power out of a 2. 9L V6, has a far nicer sound and handling (there's other cars too. The M4 GTS cannot hold up to the then brilliant M3 GTS, that was really cool. Added to that, the way that this car is perceived from the general public, and this is a personal opinion, I don't think the value will rise as quickly as expected.

I agree with you on all you said. Porsche does the same and gets praised while the Beemer looks much better and does deliver more power. People think that they raised the price because they think it's worth it. Well they do that so that normal people won't buy this car, only those who will say it is worth it will buy it for whatever cost BMW might set for a special version of any car.

People don't seem to understand that these are toys for rich people xD It is expensive or not is none of your business or mine. Just ask your self, there is pizza with pineapple for 1 euro and there is another option for the same pizza without pineapple for 2 euros would you mind playing 1 more euro to get the one with no pineapple? So yeah, this is the same situation but for rich people.

In the future (as today, already) gassers will not be faster than electrics. Most people, including the rich, will buy electrics - for performance as well as economy and environmental soundness. If we do it right, we will build environmentally sound vehicles that are just as fast, and faster, than this BMW. In fact, BMW will be building many of them.

They keep saying double the price? The M4 with performance and competition package is 92k. Add Carbon Ceramic brakes and the M4 is 102K. While the M4GTS has only one model 134k. The GTS is 5. 5 seconds a lap faster around COTA. Its a car to drive to the track and race all day. Not put your friends in and run to the store for beer.

Most people don't get it (despite it being such a simple fact. This is not a car you get instead of a regular M4 just because you have 65k more in your pockets. This is for BMW enthusiasts that have access to race tracks and-or like to collect such SE cars. There's a reason why it was limited to 700 cars.
