MIGUEL You've never heard of this Hyundai luxury sedan -- but the 2002 Hyundai Equus rivaled the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Today, I'm reviewing the rare, little-known first-generation Equus to show you all the weird quirks and cool features of the unknown original Hyundai Equus

A friend of mine in the 2003 time period worked at a dealership which sold Buick/Hyundai on one side and Audi on the other. Two dealerships side-by-side that were owned by the same people. Hyundai sold an Hyundai XG350 as their top car then and he brought one of them to my house one day and showed me that they were crap. It looked good but he pointed out that the car would not stand up to the abuse you could subject an Audi S6 or S8 to.

FYI doug dont know if its been posted before, SFLD enables DSP at the top left of the screen. DSP is Digital Sound Processing. It is a feature that is on most home theatre amplifiers. Therefore SFLD likely stands for Sound Field (Setting. Historically it is most often used for ARENA or Rock Stadium setting to watch live events or sports events at home to sound like you are in the venue itself for better immersion into the viewed event.

DSP stands for digital signal processor. It is a reverberation system that emulates the acoustics of various Different acoustic environments. It is something you can purchase today in America and its been around for quite a few years. It is not a quirk. Its a feature. Very high-end feature at that time. In America that accessory was a high-end audio component. Now it is incorporated into Home theater receivers.

Doug, your the best, most you tubers mention the coolest of things first but say, wait till the end to see it and then proceed to show us the lame stuff then get to the cool stuff, they do that to get us to watch till the end. But you get to each part of the car, one at a time, and right of the bat show us the cool stuff. I like that and it keeps me entertained and interested, thank you Doug

S. Fld = Sound Field. DSP (Digital Signal Processing) was a relatively new feature in consumer audio gear around the Millennium and lots of upper-end consumer gear had such Sound Field DSP presets, which were a combination of EQ, reverb, and delay settings. Those have mostly fallen out of favor as almost no one used them - it's an example of just because you can doesn't mean you should.

OMG when i lived in korea in like 2008 my neighbour had the same exact black limo version. Never knew what kinda car it was, but all the people driving these drove like they owned the road and everyone else was a peasant. Kinda makes sense now that i watched this video.

Actually the rear seat heater switch on the dashboard is not a quirk, but a feature. Dont you think it would be good for the chauffeur to heat the seat during the winter time for the notable to have a warm butt when they got into the car. What do you think Doug?

Well, you have to check the Kia Opirus (which was replaced by the Cadenza now) it has the same interior and from outside it looks similar too except for the front and rear angles, and I think the Opirus was sold in the US
