Doug my input. Having lived a total of three years in Korea mostly Seoul. I have seen the trend of Koreans wanting a black luxury vehicle, like Toyota Crown or a Grand Marque early 80s vers. The quality of their early model of Hunydai and Dong-A was sad but they have stepped up to give the locals what they want. Your havent seen the Bongo van and you can never complete you Doug score of a Asian family must have vehicle. Put Korea on your Doug bucket list. My last year long visit came after 88 Olympics and the change was eye opening, not only did everyone think they needed a car in a city of 13mil. People but the quality had finally tried to catch up with the modern world.

The stinger is crap. They should have made it a wagon crossover like a Panorama or made it into a crossover. USA isnt the place for a Korean built sports sedan like this. Unless it proves it has Lexus type reliability it wont take off. This reminds me of when the Tiberon GT debuted. Lots of hype at first, sure it was quick and cheap, but owning one is still embarrassing for real car guys unless it's just their daily or beater. At least this is RWD though. Thank god for that.

working on kias, i have some maybe nit picky complaints about this car. the plastic fake hood vents, the plastic fake rear brake vents. superficial things such as this. But I tell you what, if you have never drove one of these cars. from the 4cyl T to the 6cyl T. These things will boogy when you give it some throttle. Also another cool thing about the stinger, is from factory, the engines sound really good.

Established products like BMW, Mercedes and Audi, can charge 50% more then other name plates. Lets cacll this the heritage premium. We see this with Apple phones charging 2x the price as their android competitors that in many cases have more features. Kia won't get German money for their cars, no matter how good their cars get for at least the next 10 years. For heritage premiums, they need to do their time.

test drove this car the other day, and it was fantastic. leave the badge loyalty at the door and give a shot. I trying to decide between a charger scat pack or this. and while this isn't as fast from roll. its faster 0-60 and doesn't have the ancient interior design like the charger. Now if only kia would bring over the V8 motor from hyundai in to this. OMFG

Just got my 2019 GT2 and it is freakin' awesome. Comfort, speed, agility, HK sound system, outstanding warranty and every option I need and didn't think I needed, along with a pleasant exhaust note that won't wake up my neighbors. Thanks for this video Doug which I saw after my purchase. Never thought I would say this but I am a proud and satisfied KIA owner.

If I rolled home with a 50, 000 Kia, my head would displayed on a stick on the front lawn. Nice looking car, a lot of features, but Kia is going to have to show long term success in that market before it would gain my trust. Resell value is another key feature for me because I usually buy a new car when I complete my current financing.

Kia builds great cars. The only problem is, one day the engine is fine and the next it is locked up. No warning or anything. It will drive fine the just turn off never to be cranked again. Seen it maybe 30 times this year at my shop. I just send them to the dealer and the replace the short block without question.

I dont understand why everyone is comparing a Kia and a bmw. For 50k you have a ton of options. You dint have to get a BMW and Im not spending 50k on a Kia. Its still a Kia. This is what you get when ppl dont have money or never had money. I would rather drive a ton of other cars before I would sit in a Kia.

Recently got myself a 2018 optima lx (base) and a lot of those neat little interior features are in it. Minus the heated/cooled seats, HUD, drive mode knob (just a little button for me with 3 settings) and change feature. So far im loving it. Looks and feels great but would love to own a stinger gt
