The 1999 isn't as good looking as the Gen 2 or Gen 1 models, albeit more rare. In the earlier models (on Dodge Stealths at least) you could get adjustable exhaust for better muffler noise at higher throttle settings. Also anyone over 6' tall would almost never opt for the sunroof because of the headroom problem mentioned. The steering for a 90's car was (in the time) extremely good, this car may be a bit loose because of age, but normally they were very tight (for the time. The 6G72 engine in the G2 and G3 models were also reasonably easy to modify for upwards of 600 HP, because of 4 bolt mains. I still like the Stealth wing over the Mitsu, the reverse boomerang always seemed less of a tacky addon. The older models also had options for adjustable shocks to switch from more of a GT ride to a rather harsh racer ride. The seats were also actually quite supportive in comparison to what was available in other cars at the time. Those adjustable wings on the driver's seat made for a surprisingly comfortable and supportive drive.

The cushion on the door is to protect the arm/ elbow / shoulder when doing high speed turns. auto metal refers to the k7 player, that changes auto from normal to metal (low noise dobly ), the sound that the climate control makes is to allow you to know that you have pushed the command without turning your eyes from the road (it's the same console from 98's Galant SW, only the coulor of the screen is different and missing the outside temperature and rear defrost button). The disturbance that manual refers about some motorcycles interferes with radio, is not the sound, but old motorcycles produced arc noise from their ignition system, that affected AM reception, like a deranging humming noise. The gasoline (like white spirit) is also used as old school cleaner, because it's a solvent, and can dissolve tar and oil stains, the problem is it dissolves some plastics too; ). and we can listen to the turbos: D powering the 4SWD.

The convertible hinged hard top was an extra 15-20k option. The ideal example of this car would be in black, black interior and convertible. Auto Metal on the tape deck meant it was ideal with using the higher quality metal variety of cassette tapes that were sold at the time (allegedly better hi-fi quality than cheaper standard cassettes. Also, many later cassette players had a feature where one could find the next track on a cassette tape by automatic fast forwarding with the push of a button and it could also automatically play side 2 of a cassette without having to eject the cassette and turn it over. These were the best practical innovations to be had for a cassette player, and then later came the multi-CD changer which allowed track selection without having to deal with a linear tape.

A friend of mine had an earlier model of this car. He paid in he 40's for it. His had an automatic spoiler that would move depending on the speed you were going. Performance was world class. At the time it was wicked fast. 0-60 in low 5 seconds and with the all wheel drive it you could just floor it from a stop and it just hooked up and went. The sound system was fantastic. That being said it was still a piece of crap you would expect from Mitsubishi. It's kind of like you would love it at first and then get sick of it's crappiness. This is why Mitsubishi is almost gone. People bought one Mitsubishi and then never bought another one. My friend had it about 2 years and then traded it in for something more practical and not a Mitsubishi.

My 3000gt is base single cam, and salvaged title with the airbags deployed. Bought it from a junk dealer, and whoever salvaged it did an exceptional job despite the fact that they didn't get around to replacing the airbags and module. It handles like a dream. I would trade it in for a 99 VR-4 and/or a Spyder. But in the meantime, my car is worth restoring 100% and that's my goal. The 3000gt single cam engine is, in my opinion, a bit underrated, and it does have exceptional speed and torque for a 97, compared to today's sports cars. Great video.

I was almost 20 when this car came out. This car was overpriced garbage then, and it's overpriced garbage now. Good luck making a turn with the gobs of understeer. The supra was overpriced garbage then, terrible power to weight, it's overpriced garbage now. So was the 300z. The badass Japanese cars at the time were the NSX, and the RX7. I guess this car is cool now in the sense that you never see them, so bless those people who're willing to keep a car alive that wasn't good in the first place, but is now cool because nobody else did.

The guy I gought my '91 Stealth RT from was 6'6. He fit the car just fine. You had the back of the seat vertical, which for someone 5'7 like me is fine. Taller people just need to lay back more. I loved how the sides of the seat were adjustable so you didn't slide around on the leather. As well mine was FWD w/o rear steer. It handled like it was on rails. So I feel like the VR4 being AWD and AWS should have recieved a better handling score. Otherwise it sits about where it should on your overall list.

I loved my 1997 Mitsubishi, super reliable Now I drive a 2014 Stingray Z51. Sounds like comparable levels of sports car pricing. but what a different 20 yrs of technology makes to shift from 3700 lbs V6 to only 3300 lbs 6. 2L V8 Adds into not only more horsepower, but also much better handling in general in some aspects (not so much in other, e. g. the vette still has a wobbly rear with acceleration or wet roads, but thank god for traction assist. Both awesome cars

Sounds like comparable levels of sports car pricing. but what a different 20 yrs of technology makes to shift from 3700 lbs V6 to only 3300 lbs 6. 2L V8 Adds into not only more horsepower, but also much better handling in general in some aspects (not so much in other, e. g. the vette still has a wobbly rear with acceleration or wet roads, but thank god for traction assist. I was fortunate enough to acquire a 1991 BMW850i which had a body style and pop-up headlights that I truly appreciated as being the ultimate culmination and contribution of the eighties leading into the new decade of the nineties. When I saw many cars in the nineties come out with that rounded, bubbly, gaudy, cheap-looking body styling with front ends that look like rounded fish heads and the lack of pop-up headlights I was happy to watch that decade go by.

I have to make this admission, even though I know it will subject me to ridicule from Mr. DeMuro and many others. I have cleaned my car with gasoline before. One day parked at the mall, some kids spray painted the side of my car with some cheap spray paint. Soap and water didn't do the job, so I thought, Gasoline Wetted a little rag, lightly rubbed it on the spray paint, and it came right off. No damage to the car's paint whatsoever. So take that, DeMuro.
