In the 90s we would laugh at it for being heavy, because of the wing, etc. It's potential wasn't know yet. In 1994 you had to choose from, for all within 10k. 1. Toyota Supra TT. 2. Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR-4. 3. Nissan 300 ZX TT. 4. Mazda RX-7. The RX-7 did not haveT anywhere in it's name for that generation as all RX-7's were twin turbo beginning in 1993. Which is the year my sister bought her Montego Blue(factory Mazda chameleon paint looked green, Blue, or black depending on angle & lighting) with 5spd and tan leather interior. Bose radio, sunroof and no spoiler. Was not an R-1 optioned car. Was Touring. She chose RX-7 as her 1st brand new car after graduating college and starting her new job. Chose it over the others based on the article she read in a magazine I THINK by Motortrend that had all 4 cars on the cover and reviewed and rated them. The RX-7 was the best Sports Car and truely hardcore to Motortrend's article compared to the others which were humongous compared to the Mazda's mini Viper-esque curvaceous body lines. The RX-7 was a proper sports car where the others were bigger and heavier. She liked the small footprint. Plus Mazda was like 10k less than the Supra and Mitsubishi which was overly complicated with active exhaust and aero with rear wheel steering. Mitsubishi was close to 1000lbs heavierDaily driver it less than 20 miles a day for 2 years than was a weekend car for 3 years. Finally she garaged it and stopped driving it at under 30k miles after 5 years. Kept it until finally selling it in 2006 or 2007. All original except tires if course and had to replace muffler as one of the twin exhaust tips broke off where the set screw holds the tip on so put a Mazda Racing Beat muffler on. Very subdued and barely louder than stock. Sold it for 20k. Would be worth 50k right now if she kept it in her garage as it was.

Back in the day, I had a chance to buy one of these new. It was 1996. I was not a huge car guy and had no idea about what the Supra was all about back then. It was not yet a legend like it is today. I just saw it on a dealer lot for sale and went in to give the guy an offer. Yes it was 1996 and this 94 model was still sitting on the lot with a price sticker 3, 000 dollar higher than a 96 model sitting right next to it. I thought he would deal on it as it was already 2 years old and nobody had bought it yet as the price was so high. But no deal. I came in every month that year to ask him about it. He never did deal on it. Then I had to move away and never followed up on it. But that was Jan of 97 and he still had it for sale and no price change. I was sort of like Doug not knowing much about cars but thinking he knows all. Today I can pull that car apart and rebuild it from ground up blind folded.

I had the oportunity to have a go in a 1995 Supra, it was the car that I likes the most from japan, it was the car I used in most games, and it was the car that I knew it was my favourit. Until that day. The thing that says never meet you heroes? well, its truth. Its a fact the car was almost stock (only upgraded intake and exhaust) but damn, it feels horrible Slow, handles like a boat, brakes like my grandpa peugeot 405 and it didnt sound very good to be honest: / I was shocked by how bad it was. Unless it had some weight reduction, suspension, brakes, and decent engine mods, this car is quite disapointing for me. Maybe I was expecting too much from it? dont know. Still love the 2JZ and the way it looks (with TRD wing specially, but stock, its a no go.

Listening to you talk about 90s cars makes me want to slam my head in a door. Maybe stop blabbering for a few minutes and look some stuff up. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Im surprised youre not selling them instead of doing whatever this is. Misinforming thousands of people who know even less than you do. Do you ever do any actual research? Because it looks EXACTLY like you just read the manual then make a bunch of assumptions. Blah blah blah blah blah blah.

At auction the price of sale really would not be that impressive unless there was a lot of people there that wanted it, which isnt very likely when there is 700 cars to choose from, and most buyers are there for vintage cars. 100k would be a stretch for sure considering what could be had for that price at auction. most people given the choice would take a porsche over this that is straight up better in every single way.

The only thing that makes this car is the 2jz motor. Forget how it looks and anything else. Its all because they are easily tuned. bdoesnt matter what they put that motor in. that car would be as popular as the Supra had everything to do with engine and really nothing else 2jz is bullet proof

I have the 97' Toyota Supra Limited Edition Turbo black with ivory interior. No mods, I have to say this is extremely low mileage and is a beauty for sure. This is a prime example of this vehicle. just a stunner The new 2020 Supra is pure trash now, looks like a Alfa Romeo/Miata.

21: 32 as you are passing someone in a Mclaren you know you are driving something more special? Ummm. no. Sorry I do not get excited about ANY Japanese car. I appreciate the quality of the car but its just a Toyota. Special yes. More special than another special car? Nope.

I had that exact car I bought used with 26, 000 miles for 26, 500 in 98. I bought the 95 non turbo and kept it for 2 months and found my turbo 94 6speed. Ill never get over getting rid of my Supra for a Mercedes SL500. Ill be sick till the day I die
