Hi I was hoping you could help a brother out. I completely rebuilt my 1. 8T. I met a man named Fred who retired from Audi and was a machinist on the race team. I pd 6k cash for a cylinder head and K04 he built. he was restoring a old 02 a4. at my dad's funeral he saw my car which lead to abovr. where I need help is all he said was if I put in enough fuel and had some1 like his wizard 4 my ecu if it didn't put 450-500hp. its my first turbo and German car I've ever completely rebuilt. he said that the crankshaft was better than anything I could buy and rods were heavy but will hold up much longer than expected so it was great till I had a 22titanium cage around my spine and he moved and died so I just got to it and I'm 90 0/0 done and stuck. Should I atleast portmatch the intake? bigger throttle body will increase mass but lower velocity. also I don't know if I actually went to far with the injectors I have new Bosch 650cc60psi. he said that other than what I got from him it's all on the fuel and programming. do you think I went to far with injectors? have anyone who has experience and cheap to flash my ecu? He died b4 I could ask. I've done what he said. have stg3coils also. should I change the temp range of the plugs. pls help me out with anything experience is the best teacher. you can probably tell i was a master certified ase tech at a Chevy dealer 15yrs till my spine and now I'm hurt, stuck, And almost broke cause disability doesn't go far with a 17yr old&mortgage. just throw me a bone i don't know why nobody ever will speak let alone help.

Hey guys I have a big issue with big turbo modifiers. You correctly state that other mods are need to take advantage. I'd like to see a myth buster on big turbos, just changing the turbo (not pressure setting) and measure the power difference and any other effects. Engine power is generally made from boost pressure and not turbo size, the engine cares not what size the turbo is only the pressure (and temperature) in the manifold. As power evolves up smaller turbos become less efficienct and general more heat, but heat is generated by compressing air anyway (irrespective of turbo size. A good example is the Volvo red block with its TD04 13C, its perfectly capable of pretty much any level of boost for a standard engine at the top end. An estimate of benefit to go bigger is around 220BHP, but you might need more fueling to get to that, so I'm thinking that there is no benefit in only upgrading the turbo. Some modifiers talk about more flow, but I believe this is a myth. What is hard to quantify is the amount of heat produced due to inefficiency, that might affect the power.

And turbine wheel mass. Super duper important. And how internally gated turbine housing combines the ports near the mount. And dump pipe. Quality turbo and quality dump pipe. If u the bay those, ya may as well cheap out on everthing cause ya gunna waste your dosh if u skimp on the hairdryer and handle
Dont have to swap out complete turbos peoples. Compressor / Turbine housings, comp/turb wheels, AR ratios, wheel design (and metallurgy ) ALL customisable and tweekable.

if your car comes with a boost control valve operated by the ECU that only allows a certain peak boost ( mine is now higher because my car was tuned) can you put on a slightly larger turbo to take advantage of that? will the computer automatically stop the larger turbo from blowing your motor up? So say you have a TDO4 12t turbo and you get the car tuned to run a bar of boost. could you but on a TD04 14t and be safe? it would just have a different boost curve right and the power would just be in a different place in the powerband?

Can I put a VF-34 on my 2003 WRX sedan? Im in the middle of putting a JDM EJ205 in my car right now. I cant see the plate on the turbo to see if its a TD-04, but I think it is. Would I have to pay a lot of money for a tune if I switched and upgraded the turbo to the VF? I also have an Accessport V3. Would I have to get the car tuned regardless, because of the swap from a USDM to a JDM?

I remember watching this 6-7 years ago and being sad I couldnt do cool turbo upgrades and FMICs because all I had was a 03 NA Mazda 323F at the time. Now Im on the other side. Got a sweet 2016 turbo sports car, FMIC, HKS BOV and just did a big turbo upgrade. You guys inspired me to always keep my dream alive and its not just a dream anymore. Its real, it happened and its great!

Mighty Car Mods. I'd love to see more on your Forester xt. Or even info on your mods done. Id love to see how much the Turbo, exhaust, performance cleaner and Esy Flash tuner + dyno cost. Broken down each bit, so people like myself can see the cost for similar mods please: ) love to see more cosmetics done and even a track tim run vs a stock wrx ect

that's all nonsense. a small turbocharger is much better for a small engine otherway the charger doesn't make anything because it wouldn't run if there is not enough Power from exhaust turning it.
why effective cars have a Twin Turbo? a smaller and a bigger one?
it's only working with a bigger compressor but not with a bigger charger.

i have a dout can we fit blow off valve by replacing waste gate in the turbo? or by disconnect the vaccum actuator of waste gate in the turbo: ? my car is diesel and it have turbo with internal waste gate. so i didnt get the phhhhhsh sound. i needthe pssssh sound. plz help. how to install blowoff valve instead of waste gate

still waiting for the answer from week ago; -) but will go ahead and ask another related one, my question is which Turbo would you recommend I am thinking something better then the stock one nothing crazy and what else would have to be done afterwords, tune, map, or etc?
