Hello Scotty, this comment is not related to this video specifically, but all your videos in general, I have a few things to say, First off All, whenever you review cars, reliability is the only factor you really talk about, You always say to buy things like Toyota over Mercedes, well i would like to say that is really bad advice, Mercedes is a luxury brand, and if a consumer is okay with buying a car that may have problems down the line, that is okay. They shouldn't buy a Toyota over a Mercedes, they are both great brands that serve their purpose well. Also, you say the corolla is the best car and its a good family car, just because it worked for your family doesn't mean it will work for everyone. The corolla is a great reliable car, and it would be a good family car for SOME families, I heard you saying in a previous video that people don't need SUVs for families and a corolla would work just fine, You are wrong about that, people buy SUVs because it can do things a corolla cannot do.

I upgraded my computer in my '96 Protege to a Haltech and added a turbocharger and a coil on plug system and did some suspension upgrades when I had it in Australia while staying with relatives there for about a year. The Haltech has a display that shows everything that the ODB-II system is doing, similar to using a scan tool. It requires a laptop and software from Haltech to tune it though there are some tuning options provided by the display. The little 1. 5L 4 cylinder that does 92 HP/96 lb-ft of torque stock is now pulling 134 HP and 139 lb-ft of torque and actually gets about 1 MPH better gas mileage than it did before. Why did I do this? Because the car is an automatic and I'm disabled and wanted similar performance to what the people with the manual transmissions and the 1. 8L engines get. I think I have succeeded. My Protege blows away my friend's Miata when we race. It was worth every bit of the 1700+ I spent to upgrade my car to finally shut him up.

I've owned two Saturns in the past, one of the Saturns had the check engine light on for over 5 years or at least that is what the previous owner told me. Now normally I wouldn't buy a car from someone with the check engine light on, but the car was really really cheap and everything else was good. I took it in one day just to see what code it was tripping, and it turned out to be a coolant sensor. I had the mechanic change out the coolant sensor and the fan and lo and behold the code tripped again for coolant sensor. I don't know, I just learned to live with it and kept driving it with no problems.

I recently had my 2012 Altima 2. 5 transmission replaced. but ever since then. the cruise control set light starts blinking when the car reaches 110km per hour speed and cruise does not work. I have to switch off and restart the car to get rid of blinking light and cruise works normal again only till it is below 110kmph. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I recently got a car, manual '98 Honda Accord. (213k miles)There was no MIL, but my Bluedriver scanner found code P1456. Using that, and the service manual, I found out that the EVAP bypass solenoid valve was bad. So 80 bucks, about 30 minute part change, and 2 drive cycles later, the car had a clean bill of healthEven got an early pass on the Emissions test

Last time I took my vehicle to a mechanic, he charged me 80 to 'read' the code. only to find out it was no big deal in the operation of the vehicle. Makes investing a few bucks into your own code reader a worthwhile investment

Reseting the check engine won't save you during emissions. When you clear it those codes can still be scanned so it makes no difference. Unplugging the battery won't work either so I don't recommend trying lol.

But what if the code that keeps reappearing changes? Mine comes up with the P0171, with the P0174 as pending. usually. every few thousand miles. The other day it pops up as the P0174 with no pending codes.
