I know this aint ewt to do with the vid but im wondering if you can help, iv got a manual citreon berlingo petrol and when im stopped at the lights I go to pull of and the car wont move the car doesn't rev at all but the engine is still running, I have to turn it off an start it again an that usually fixes it sometimes it might take a couple of goes, I don't know if the battery would have anything to do with it because iv had to charge it a couple of times cos the car hadn't moved for 5 month an went flat, icharged it an it went flat again after a few days, but now the battery is ok its just the dead accelerater every now and then, any ideas please?

The most important sensor in a flex fuel car is the fuel ratio sensor (may be known by another name. This sensor tells the computer what the ratio of ethanol to gasoline is. Depending on what your last fuel up was it could be anywhere between E0 to E85. The computer needs to know this in order inject the right amount. This is because of the energy difference between ethanol and gasoline. If your computer doesn't have an input for this sensor it will never work right. The sensor can't be added later. As mentioned the entire fuel system has to be made of stainless steel. The extra water in ethanol will corrode the bronze, steel and aluminum parts.

Scotty, I have a 1999 Honda Accord. In my dashboard cluster the needles for the rpm, speed, temp and fuel gauge are all orange, but only the needle for the temperature gauge shines. The others are dark as though there's a light burned out on them. I've taken the cluster out and replaced every light that I can find but I'm not sure if there is a separate light for the orange needle. I've taken the entire cluster apart and changed a few lights for the shifter read out but didn't see separate bulbs for the needles. Am I missing something?

I got one of those Earl Scheib paint jobs back in the late 80's. Was 59. 95 on their 50th anniversary on a 1977 Plymouth Fury (think Chrysler Cordoba) that already had all the body prep done and looked bad with the bondo, primer, swapped fenders (and different color. Went to midnight blue, and it actually looked great, when compared to how it was. Was it OEM? Not even close. But what do you want for a 400 car. had it another year after the paint job. got the money back when I sold it for 750 haha

Youre wrong about Diesel engines Scotty. They are 30% more efficient than gasoline engines. Diesel has a higher flash point so it burns cooler than gasoline. They operate at much lower rpms than gas engines. This means less friction at a cooler temperature. Youve said all along that these two things are responsible for the engine longevity. It also means they get much better mileage than gasoline engine of similar size. I had a VW diesel Rabbit in the 1970s that got 52 mpg on a regular basis.

I LOVE L0VE LOVE Scotty but the Scion FRS/Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ can run on E85 with a tune without any issues. In general I would agree with Scotty on his answer, but there are certain cars that are the exception to the rule and this is one of them. I would recommend a flex fuel kit so the car can run better on inconsistent e85 gas, but an e85 tune will work and car will run a LONG time without issues.

Subaru/ Toyota 86 guy needs to ask people who actually know what the deal is. Because the detail Scotty gives is not 100% accurate. It can be done safely and correctly without problems. Granted there is plenty of mis-info out there but there is also plenty of correct info out there as well. When in doubt ask people with similar cars and read as much info as possible.

Ok Scotty when it comes to some brands or certain cars. You need to be updated. Yes the lotus esprite wasn't really a reliable car which is lotus of old. But lotus of today isn't what it used to be every since they switched to Toyota engines. I own 2 and drive them all the time and not once did anything break on them and I know plenty others as well

Engines running ethanol need the appropriate rubber composites for their seals etc. The Model A & T Ford were designed specifically to be able to run on 'Moonshine' all those years ago - until the Rockefeller petroleum family funded the prohibition era which made distillation illegal and made making fuel out of spoiled food illegal.
