Dad had a '69 Chrysler Town and Country. Put on air ride shocks replacing the rear factory shocks. Ran tubes from each to a guage that he mounted under the dash. Used used rail road ties as bracers to hold back a wall of dirt. Our friends were playing pick up b ball & a younger brother & I got the privilege of loading then unloading used rail road ties. Standard shocks in '69 early '70's weren't heavy enuff to keep the car from bottoming out. That was a pain in the butt Now, they're gone replaced by the common red brick.

Scotty, this time I disagree with you that manual transmissions will die soon. There are still 43% vehicles worldwide that use them. They are most of the time more reliable as you've said many times. Of course in the US it's a very different game and that's a reason for europeans to joke about driving skills of americans. :D It's just about people's habits so everybody has own taste and the market should follow it (hopefully. Automatics will eventually rule the world but it's a slow process.

I have a 1988 Winnebago Superchief that sits on a Chevrolet P30 chassis mated to a 7. 4L 454 V8 with a Rochester Quadrajet. It has 102k miles on it. I added RESTORE as my 7th quart to my High Mileage Penzoil 10/30 at my oil change and after about 10 miles I could feel a positive difference in performance, especially acceleration onto the freeeay. But Scotty is right. Don't put that stuff in a car less than 15 years old.

Never use any additives other than some fuel injector cleaner every few thousand miles or in the winter time, some dry gas. Dont believe in the stuff and never had issues with just doing basic routine maintenance. Abs brakes though? Have no use for them and actually hate them since until about 3 years ago, all my cars were pre-1987 iron and the ones I had didnt have it.

My uncle has a 2007 toyota Camry with 300K miles and a 2006 Ford F250 V8 gas engine. He puts 1 can of Restore at every 7500 mile oil change himself. Never had any issues on both engines. He swears up and down on a can of Restore. He been putting that stuff in at 100k miles. No leaks no blown head gasket. Everything is original on both motors. I guess Restore does work.

The first car to have ABS was the 1993 Chevy Van 20 and the ABS would go off when going from pavement to blacktop and vice versa. My 2001 Oldsmmobile Intrigue has no ABS and requires pumping the brake manually as the sensor on the passenger front hub assembly is toast. My mom's 2007 Chevy Uplander LT has a modulator and pump problem.

I have a CBFA VW. Its the stricter spec and its had a SAIR pump fail. The CCTA doesn't have it. Also the CBFA uses a different water pump. I had to have a metal ccta pump machined to fit the cbfa thermostat outlet so i could have the thermostat temperature control circuit pluged in. Without it working the car goes in limp mode.

Scotty, Im currently in the process to buy a 2016 4Runner Limited w/54k miles. The dealer let me take it home for a few days to make sure I like it. The shocks on all 4 corners are wet This 4Runner is equipped with the X-REAS suspension system. I live in Houston and would like for you to look at it if possible.

Bought an '85 Monte Carlo in AZ that I bought slightly used, turned out it was a California emissions. Everything that went wrong with that car was emissions and transmission related and cost a fortune for parts and always a few days to get the parts back then. Loved the car, hated that it fell apart as it aged.
