Its amazing what some folks do when they put their minds to it Some folks would have junked that Jeep long ago, but this guy made the investment and built it the way he wanted it Everytime you buy a vehicle, you pay sales tax. If you buy 10 vehicles in 10 years, thats a huge amount of money just in sales tax If you own one car for 10 years, through regular maintenance, youve saved alot of money

1) Nice work very thorough, total hands-on: buddy knows what hes doing obviously 2) Excellent documentation of the build, before and after shots, concise run down of the problems & their solutions3) Sounded pretty damn good, a quick view of the back end so the mic can pick up the exhaust note wouldve topped it off perfectly (in my opinion)You can tell this fellow put his heart into the project

Amazing fabrication and mechanical work. only to do something so immoral. I dont care if the Chevy engine is better than the original AMC 360. These Jeep Grand Wagoneers are SCARCE now and should be kept somewhat original. Yes, the EPA-trim AMC 360 was an asthmatic engine but, it could have been rebuilt with the usual Edelbrock manifold, cam, and carb package or throttle-body EFI.

To bad you didnt put together a nice old school CARBURETED 350 or 383 small block. EPA engines SUCK. I took the 2. 8L V6 EPA engine out of my 1993 S-10 pickup and replaced it with a hand built (by me) carbureted 383 (350 bored. 030 over with a 400 crank) with absolutely no electronics or emissions crap whatsoever. It is so much more fun to drive and tinker with now.

Of course everybody loves old Jeeps, but I dont understand repowering it with a modern engine. If I had an old Jeep, I would want the simplicity of the carburetor and distributor. When it comes time to survive the zombie apocalypse, scan tools will be useless and new sensors will be unavailable. Also I think vintage cars are generally worth more if the are original.

It would have been easier and cheaper to put fitech fuel injection or Howell fuel injection on the original 360. I put fitech fuel injection on my 401 in my j20 jeep truck. The truck starts, runs like a modern fi engine. Took only a day to install. A little better fuel mileage too. All for 1, 500, and I didnt butcher my jeep.

Terrific job So sad that AMC never improved the Wagoneer over the years, the late models werent much different from the 62. The biggest obvious problem was the lack of a unified HVAC setup. I had three wagoneers over the years, and one of the two door Cherokee Chiefs of the same size. Loved them all. Enjoy youre perfected Wagoneer
