The same way Scotty dislikes GM, I do with Ford. I have owned for nearly 30 years Ford, and the later few Fords I owned, all bought new, were very badly build, and designed with poor engineering. Paint issues of 2 Expedition and an Explorer, Rattles in the roof liner, Power steering noise from a new MKX, Leather seat cracking, Drivetrain vibrations, AC not cooling, car not responding to key fob (electronic issues, creaking sound in seat mechanism. just to name a few. It was very difficult to stay brand loyal, so I switched in 2016. I owned a Nissan Narmada and BMW's (5 series. nearly faultless. I now have a 2018 Silverado, Mexican build (=better in my book); it drives great, Its solid and well build, has a very smooth drivetrain, and gave me so far no issues what so ever, and I have 5 years FULL warranty with it (Dubai.

Here is a good way to tell where your car is made is to check the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number. VIN s don t lie, unlike Car Company s Marketing Departments. The VIN will start with the following:
1, 4, 5 = United States
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
6 = Australia
9 = Brazil
J = Japan
K = South Korea
S = United Kingdom
V = France
W = Germany
Y = Sweden
Z = Italy
I hope that helps!

The 10 speed Allison is a trans that was again co developed with ford, when we all know it's really just a Ford trans they threw money at to say Co-developed. This is the big brother to the 10r80, now a 10r140 in the 2020 F250 and up trucks. Chevy did get to pick their own hardware to control it and it's shifted based on their calibrators wants and tuning, so it's not the exact same as a Ford 10r140.

Hi Scotty, can you please make video about best used crossover to buy?
I am planning to buy a used crossover of 1-4 years old models. I don't want to spend much on maintenance and fixing.
I am evaluating Honda HRV, Subaru Crosstrek and Mazda CX30.
Please help me finding a good car. I am open to get suggestions for any other make and model.

Renegade and 500x sharing platform was designed before these models existed. Saying Renegade is 500x is like saying 500x is just another Renegade, in fact they have it's focus differences not shared. unessential things are exactly same, like steering column, ac boxes, but awd type, all electrical modules, steering, suspension are model specific

Rephrase: don't by post-bailout built GM products.
If it was a model that was designed or built before the bailout, it's probably about as reliable as anything out there on the road. Case in point I've got an 06 Buick Lucerne CX, yes I'm on my second engine and third transmission, but I've got almost 300K on it.

I have the previous generation, and its an okay car. All the problems were things I could fix in my driveway. Cheap to buy, cheap to fix, parts are everywhere, and online help from people who have the car. But I do baby the car tho. Thank God I don't have a dinky econo-box.

Hey scotty i have a mazda 3 hatchback from 2012 the pervasive owner changed the gas tank. And now it shows the gas light before the tank is even close to being empty. I can go about 50kml after the gas light comes on. The fuel gauge is digital. So can you make a video explaining how to fix it?
