Ok, while I do enjoy this video, I wish they would stop or I will never be able to afford one of these, lol. As far as the drum brakes, the 4Runner is based on this same frame, is a capable off-roader when you want them to be, are available in TRD equipment, and have guess what. disc brakes in the rear, so there is no real advantage to having drums for a pickup. Toyota does this because they know they don't have to try too hard to sell tons of these. A few months ago I was in the market for a mid-size truck and researched the hell out of these and really wanted one. However, I could not find one in descent enough shape for what I was willing to pay, so I would up with my second (close second) choice, the Nissan Frontier V6. It seems like all that I read about, and spoke to people that own Frontiers, like the Tacoma, if you take care of them, they last about as long. I still would love a Tacoma someday, but so far, the Frontier fits our life great, is great looking, and we are totally satisfied with it. Scotty, keep doing what you do, but hold up with loving on the Tacoma so much so all of us poor guys can have a crack at one someday. Cheers.

I was a proud owner of a 1976 Toyota SR5 longbed PU. Bought it new and used it in my job where I put over 427, 000 miles on her in less than 5 years. Only problem was the 5-speed transmission would break after about 60-70, 000 miles which after I paid for two out of my pocket it became the Toyota transmission research mule, which means Toyota kept replacing the trans w/free parts and labor and sent the busted trans back to Japan. The last one I got was in '78 I think and the final solution and remained so for the rest of that 5-speed's run however long that was.

Those 05 Jeep Liberties are absolute JUNK! I bought one for my Ex back in 2008 it had 60k mi. Mechanic checked it out and there were no problems initially. However at the 75k mi mark. Boom! Blown head gasket and warped heads! The thermostat was stuck closed and it overheated. And not severely. just sitting in the driveway after a short trip. I also had an 05 Dodge ram with the Hemi. The lifters started knocking after 35k mi. I bought it new in 05. After those 2 piles of junk. I never went back to Chrysler! Toyota ALL THE WAY BABY!

Scotty, I have a 2005 double cab Tacoma I purchased new, has 160, 000 miles on it with no repairs other than brakes, battery muffler, tires. Toyota even replaced frame at zero cost two years ago. I recently purchased a similar 2019 Tacoma but kept the 2005 to give to my son when he gets driver s license, he is 12 years old now! If Tacoma keeps same quality I will own nothing else. They are perfect for my needs. I am curious though, will need to go out and look where each was made.

Hey scotty, i got a 99 nissan altima se, i need to get it inspected but the obd2 port isn't letting the scanners communicate with the computer. The computer is working and a bluetooth scanner is telling me the port is allowing me to view the running stats but it won't let me read any codes being thrown from the computer. Even the snap on scanners at a garage keepgetting read error. Please help.

I've bought a 2010 4x4 Tacoma with 30k miles. Now has 125k miles and its still running strong. In 8 years all I've had to do are brakes, front wheel bearings, blower motor (warranty covered, & routine maintenance. The dealership also undercoated the frame under recall. Compared to the 2001 Durango I had before which was at the shop every other week, this truck is a dream.

Hey Scotty, First I am not some crackpot. I'm 70 & a cancer survivor who is on disability income. I was wondering if you might have any Single Dinn test radios you might want to get rid of. I know you mentioned once you had several radios sent to you and they were just in the storage area of your garage. Loyal Listener for Years. Thanks.

I've looked at some Tacomas but they really do cost even if they have almost or over 200, 000 miles. I might opt for a Ford Ranger if I can find one with a manual transmission. F-150s can also have really high resale values.
I wonder what Scotty thinks of the huge F-450? I don't think I've seen him review one of those.

You always say how horrible nissans are. Well my friend I have a 2013 Altima with 140, 000 miles and no mechanical issues at all. I think the key to a cvt transmission lasting is to change the fluid every 30 to 40 thousand miles. Wish you would cover a little more on your videos.
Thank you
