Metromile insurance tracks your car as well, but the subscription fee is your base insurance rate. Then you can see a map with start & stop times of every trip you make. But since they charge you car insurance based on mileage, you don't want to be a high-mileage driver and be insured with them. It is for people who don't drive much. It is about half of what other insurance companies want. And they have special options if you want to take an occasional long trip. No complaints from me yet.

My car has hidden one that the dealer installed, too bad they Dont tell use how to track it ourself. How do we remove the tracker that the dealer installed with the wire spliced directly and hidden under the bottom of steering wheel or pedals.

Some cars with Link systems do this already in case your teenager has your vehicle. It uses the onboard PDR. I have it on my vehicle and every time my kid borrows it, I check. Now they take my wife car so I need one of these for her car.

I'm glad this didn't exist back in the mid to late 80s when my friends and I were new drivers. The way we drove if our insurance companies had access to that data I'm sure they would have dropped our coverage in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful idea for someone as myself disabled that lives in apartment where parking is out of sight (disliked to the max) and would never know if someone was messing with my truck being older.
