America is about to run out of trucks (best time to buy) Jeff: It was Popular Science it was a Ford 2300 cc it was porcelain coated and worked on thermal heat and yes it did have its problems but some of that technology is used today but it did get good gas mileage. Do enjoy your videos there is a lot of truth in what you say I to grow up like you couldn t afford to pay for repairs so I picked up books and was self taught and had to upgrade as things got more technical now I find it funny someone says my car keeps losing spark something so simple but they didn t know they had to grease the lubes of the distributor how times have changed

Well when tons of the sub assemblies are made in asian nations. go figure you'll run out of stuff made from those parts. This is why we need to start ramping up manufacturing in the US today so we don't have such a big gap in the supply chain. This global chinese war crime of covid bioterrorism has to start making people think smarter. Totally redesign vehicles so they just need fewer parts. Start using good parts that aren't all garbage plastic. For years cars were made of steel and wood and they lasted and didn't have terrible environmental systems that ruined gas mileage or performance. Fear of change based on things we can fully control is idiocy.

Scotty, you re a smart man, but, please stop talking about electric vehicles (primarily Tesla. The amount of times you ve taken cheap shots with absolutely no knowledge on the matter is ridiculous. I trust you more than most with combustion engine vehicles, but your knowledge of EV s is obviously abysmal. 1) Tesla has never once advertised and won t 2) This is not the first time Electric vehicle s or even Tesla s have been the number 1 sold vehicle 3) you were wrong just the other day on charging stations 4) you ve been misinformed consistently prior to that even. Please just stick to combustion engines and what you know so well.

Well of course car sales are down and truck sales are up! FoMoCo no longer makes cars and FCAs few car models are old as the hills. All they really have to buy are trucks and SUVs. Americans want vehicles that last 200K miles and don't care so much about handling or fuel economy and they don't like sitting on the floor either. We want long lasting vehicles that are comfortable to sit in and have good outward visibility and functionality. Maybe they should start designing and building cars like that again.

Took my C5 corvette to the Chevy dealer for a free inspection with a coupon I had. Called me up 45 min after dropping to tell me the rear main seal was bad and they d need to pull the drivetrain to replace. Went over and made a big stink in the parking lot about the 5, 000 repair bill. They offered me %15 off and a free loaner car. I obviously passed. Took it to my private owned mechanic. He showed me a leaking oil pressure sending unit. Less than 100 later I was back on the road.

Wrong wrong wrong. Electric cars and trucks are rapidly replacing internal combustion because they perform better in every way--faster, less expensive, easier to build and repair, cleaner air. You are just stuck with what you know best. Strange since you no longer nead to make a living fixing engines and even if you were there will be plenty of internal combustion engines for a long time yet. Why not embrace the change. New battery technology is making better cars?

They should be so lucky to run out of trucks to sell. Every year the auto companies over produce thousands of vehicles and they end up being parked on huge storage lots. They won't sell them at reduced prices because it would cut into the sales of the newer models so instead of cutting production they just mothballs 10' s of thousands of unsold vehicles to rot. When the price of oil goes back up they are going to regret buying those trucks and big SUVs

This Is FUN to watch Car dealers and makers try to control the Market the reason they want to sell trucks is because of the lower emissions standards on truck verses car emissions the Auto Makers do not like the higher requirements of the government impose this is real simple In the long term this will hit them hard And we must remember the GOLDEN RULE here that is HE THAT HAS THE GOLD MAKES THE RULES like the videos some times a little Verbose over all FUN

I'm guessing truck sales are up and car sales are down because more women are choosing to own trucks, especially with more and more of them entering the STEM professions, earning lots more money than just a generation ago, and choosing to delay having kids or not have any at all. And around here they're mostly choosing the big American-made products like Silverados and F-series models rather than the smaller-model imports like Tacomas.
