Here s why honest mechanics won t fix this car Stephen: The United States has the highest prison population in the entire world. More than China, more than Russia, you name it. The vast majority of them are nonviolent offenders who are no risk to the general population and are causing a parasitic drain on the tax pool instead of being outside and working. You finding ONE example of a reoffending car thief isn't convincing, Scotty. Stick to car advice, and leave the humanitarian work to others.

Scotty! Dude! You're starting to scare me a little bit. You had another video with an older Acura SUV and this same problem! You had about 50 people tell you in the comments that it was the Bluetooth module(aka hands free link module! Just unplug that(It's worthless anyways, problem solved! Honda ran with this horrible design for many years. For example, all 1st generation TSXs had these, they were all bad. Think parasitic drain, Acura, between 2003 or so to about 2011-ish, 1st suspect is the BT module. Usually mounted by the passengers foot, behind a little panel. Just pop off the panel and unplug it. Sheesh, don't you EVER read the comments?

That fuse powered quite a few things so a real mechanic would've traced the real problem but you just chose to pull the fuse and told the customer the issue was the HUD and was too expensive to fix. Nonsense! Nothing pointed to the HUD other than pulling the fuse stopped the drain and made the HUD inoperative. You kept the car for days with the nonsense of checking the current draw of every fuse when you could've easily found the circuit in minutes just by pulling each fuse while watching the parasitic draw at the battery. Clearly the issue was beyond your level of expertise.

Hey Scotty I know exactly what it is. Its the hands free link system. Specifically the blue tooth module. It shorts out cuz its found in the roof in front of the sun roof. It just can handle the heat from sun, especially warm climate areas like Texas or in my case So. Cal. Its like that for the RDX MDX TL RSX. That, purge solenoid valve and the lower control arm bushings are guaranteed to need replacement around the 95k mile mark.

I love electronics and electrical. But diagnosing parasitics is no fun. There are so many reasons why a circuit may drain. And there are so many reasons to leave a circuit charged all the time, and so many reasons to discharge circuits after the ignition is turned off. Leaky diodes are the bane of the automotive mechanic. Specifically TVS diodes that are right at threshold or clamping voltage. Sooooo much to go wrong.

Scotty I have a 6 cylinder 02 single cab 2wd f150. I live in Iowa and it s fine during the summer but it s almost a road hazard during the winter sometimes making it impossible to leave my neighborhood due to snow and ice. I m looking to get into a pickup or fwd/awd suv after the summer. I see myself spending about 5000-8000 any recommendations? I want something newer but not brand new. Recommendations?

Yes, Scotty, hate to get political, but the liberal agenda is ruining America. Unfortunately, the idiots who create these permissive policies live in gated communities and have private security, so they're unaffected by the havoc they wreak. Try San Francisco, for example, where, depending on where you walk, you might step on a hypodermic needle or a pile of feces. If this is the new normal, COUNT ME OUT.

So, my lover drives a Jeep Cherokee Sport 2014, last sunday It wont start. Day after, it works and there was a CAN C BUS problem. After check it at the dealer, it only needed a New Battery: 279 usd for the battery & checking the car. Thank God & the mechanic for the good Job, but knowing that kind of stuff IS A MUST

The Thief who they keep letting go needs to be shot or his legs and arms cutoff. However i bet they won't want to let you go if you caught him trying to steal from you and dealt him some good blows. IT's called the criminal justice system, Justice for criminals not the innocent or decent hardworking people.

Try using a thermal imaging camera to find the hot spot on the car. The extra heat given off will indicate devices on the car that are using power long after the car has been turned off. I rented one from home depot and found the Bluetooth hands free phone device was the culprit in my 2006 acura tl.
