Had the same problem with my 2009 MDX, but problems are still not fixed even in the new models from what I have read. In my case the relay that powers the AC clutch hangs closed resulting in a drained battery. Then my HandsFree Bluetooth module started draining my battery. Over 400 to replace it. Outrageous! Every freaking phone and computer has a Bluetooth module in them and they don't cost 400! Acura won't negotiate on the overpriced module so I have stopped taking my Acura to the dealer for repair work, after MANY years of faithful maintenance there even after one of their technicians stripped my oil plug and just stuck it in the pan with goop before I took a few thousand mile trip!

Hey Scotty, great video as usual. I have a question for you please; Some months back I had a P0171 and P0174 CEL code on my 08 lexus IS350 to indicate that my car was running lean on bank 2. Further down the line I changed both upstream 02 sensors and the codes went away. However I noticed the SFT and LFT on bank 1 are 2. 3% and 10. 1% respectively whereas that of bank 2 are 2. 3% and 14. 8%. I've checked under the hood for hissing noises or leaks but nothing. The car runs great however the mpg (14/17mpg) isn't very good. Please what does this indicate?

Scotty you are a man after my own heart. I work on HVAC Commercial Refrigeration. I have done the sane thing when working on equipment and customer could not afford correct fix or had to make a temporary fix till l could fix properly. Sometimes l honestly beloved things are over engineered. planned just to make repairs more costly. What has happened to common sense. Keep up the Great work. Be safe out there and be blessed

A lot Acura's of this era has a problem with their Bluetooth Module which is tied to the infotainment. Bluetooth would work find but the module wouldn't properly shut down and continue to drain. I believe there was TSB on this for the MDX but not sure about the RDX. might be worth a shot to disconnect the Bluetooth Module to see if it will continue to drain. I recall Acura having a revise part number for this module.

This is crazy. Get a wiring diagram, find all the Power Distribution connections for that fuse circuit, hook up your ammeter again, start disconnecting and reconnecting connectors till the excess milliamp draw goes away. Then you know the defective circuit. Then you look at the connectors for bent pins etc. If the connector looks good blame that component only. But you don't go unusual, you go standard.

What's the fair-market value of a late model Acura RDX? Now, what's the fair-market value of a late model Acura RDX that has an undiagnosed electrical problem that your mechanic fixed by willie-rigging a 2 toggle-switch into the entertainment system? It seems to me that you owe your customer the difference, minus whatever you charged them to rig the switch.

I had a RDX as my first car and it had loads of electrical problems. the interior lights wouldn't work, the horn fuse would blow if you held it down too long, and the fuse for the horn and brake lights were the same so when the horn shorted out, the brake lights wouldn't work and you wouldn't be able to shift the car out of Park. it was a nightmare!

I had a RDX as my first car and it had loads of electrical problems. the interior lights wouldn't work, the horn fuse would blow if you held it down too long, and the fuse for the horn and brake lights were the same so when the horn shorted out, the brake lights wouldn't work and you wouldn't be able to shift the car out of Park. it was a nightmare!

You asked how come the screwdriver disappears every time you put it down and you need to use it? That phenomenon is known by it's scientific name as Chronosynclasitcinfindibulm! What has actually happened is that the tool that you need at that moment has slipped into another dimension. It will not return until the mechanic stops looking for it.

Just unplug the system for the wireless phone its under the center console on the passenger side. I had a customer with the same car that had the same problem. The wireless phone system is running the whole time ignition switch is off the system is looking for a connection but draining the battery at same time
