2: 45 Clearly Scotty does not know that 160k miles is barely broken in on that model. There is a reason why TJs hold their value so well - the drivetrains are completely solid - the bodies and frames are the problem. Provided it doesn't have (much) rust, that is a great buy! If Scotty convinced you otherwise, please let me know where that Jeep is - I'll buy it! THEN he goes on to say get an 'older' one - the older ones are nice too, but lack a lot of the 'benefits' of a modern model - no real anti-roll protection, roll bars are junk, etc. The drivetrain on the TJs are, for the most part, the 'best' of the older stuff. The 4. 0L was around for over 40 years - an engine does not stick around that long if it is 'junk. ' The NV3550 is not the best transmission - but it is tough. Sloppy, but tough. The NP231 is another tough component. It's been around for over 30 years with little problem since it's so basic. The axles have been around for well over 40 years as well - they are only an issue when going to larger tires - but even the weakest ones can take a TON of abuse on 31 tires. So basically, the TJ is the 'last' of the good 'old' Jeeps. The new ones are not bad either - but they are using new engines and drivetrains. Scotty couldn't even explain what was wrong with the TJ model, other than they 'fall apart. ' I'm curious to know what falls apart. Also, Scotty claims to get a Toyota instead - totally different class of vehicle.

You know this philosophy is great in basically all areas of my life. I don't need a lot of fancy hi tech stuff or material objects to find happiness. The only area though that I really need to have nice dependable items are cars. I've had old cars many many many times. The problem work old cars is they constantly break and if you don't know how to fix them, then you're stuck paying huge repair bills. Granted, I can certainly fix some things. But major repairs I just can't and neither can most people so they want a car that's dependable. They break down right when you need them most.

Um there absolutely is something backing the stock market. The value of the market (whether the dow, the S&P, or whatever other index you want to use) comes from the fact that those corporations are MAKING MONEY from people BUYING THEIR PRODUCT. Therefore, each individual stock in each individual company is worth more because the value of each individual company has increased, which in turns means that index in aggregate is worth more because all of the companies that make it up have grown in value. It is simply ignorant to say there s nothing backing the stock market.

When you truly mature in life you realize that the simple things can be thrown away if you're distracted by the complex and expensive things that only make your life more complex and expensive. It's better to be comfortable and confident then to be flashy and stressed out. You can't take it with you, but being secure can make you feel more comfortable while you're here and give you a sense of relaxation while you do and enjoy the simple things.

Hey Scotty, just bought a 2016 Accord Touring coupe with the V6 and 6 speed auto. I ve read a lot of problems with the VCM and it causing misfires, fouled plugs, and worn motor mounts. They make a VCM Muzzler that basically tricks the computer into thinking it s at a lower coolant temp so the VCM doesn t activate. It only has 52k miles. Should I leave it? Or should I get the Muzzler. Thanks!

I m a math teacher who has played with cars for 40+ years - you are correct about people wasting money on cars. I ve often thought I should teach a community class in how to change your life by making wiser car choices. Too many times I ve seen adults squander family finances on cars and trucks that feed their ego while making the family suffer by living poorer otherwise.

Scotty, I hope you see this question. I noticed that Ford Mustangs, from the 1990s, used to be priced according to their age, and ware. We WERE talking anywhere from 1, 200 to 5, 000. Now, since we are in this present situation that we're all in, I see that they've zoomed up the prices, to ten thousand plus! What's the reason behind that? That's my big question

Thanks Scotty you keep up the laughter. Life is to short for pitty parties. Quarantine is to make you weaker? No sunshine no hope no money no socialising only fear. This is the plan demoralizatioin of the little people. So the big shots can enjoy themselves going golfing etc etc no crowds so they can be free of us. Except when they need votes
