I hate to see what Renault/Nissan have become. Renault used to make different, innovative cars before the 1980s and they were quite good (in europe at least. Renault also had many successes in motorsport and rallies all over the world. Nissan/Datsun overall quality has indeed plummeted in the 20 or so years and it's a damn shame too. Nissans were sportier than their rivals (Toyota, Honda, etc. That image isn't enough to attract people in the dealerships anymore and I doubt that trend will reverse itself anytime soon

I wonder what reputation the Santa Cruz will have. This will be the second unibody pickup after the Ridgeline and people hated on the Ridgeline because unibody pickups are not traditional and therefore not real trucks On one hand, the Santa Cruz might be hated for the same reasons as the Ridgeline: unibodies aren't real trucks. On the other hand, the Hyundai haters are not as known as well as the Honda haters.

So weird when he talks about Hyundai reliability and ownership and talks about how crappy they are when my family has 4 sonatas over 200k miles and my 2011 with 170k miles and none of us have has one issue in the ownership everything on our cars are original 1 2004 with 278k, 2005 with 215k. 2019 with 207k and a 2007 with 210k all are V6 ecept for 2011 that has 2. 4 4cyl.

The Buick Park Ave in 90 -92 when I was selling them had cornering lights. When you put the blinker on to one side there was a light in the front of the front wheel well that would come on. Just a regular bulb in a lens to light where you where turning. Worked great and it was super basic I always thought it should be on all cars but it went out of fashion.

Auto makers keep making bloated hi tech over priced vehicles. Pick ups are absurd. I need a small truck. The best small truck I ever had, bought new, was a 1984 Mazda B2000. It had a bullet proof 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual, manual roll up windows, vent windows and a heater. It got good mileage and lasted for 200, 000+ miles.

First off I'll say I'm a Nissan guy but for all those ppl shitting on the Hyundai. look at the roads they've taken over. Older models were garbage you'd drive and they would fall apart. I use to say Nissan best bang for your buck but Hyundai gotta be doing something right tech, style and price.

Hyundai did say it's not a truck it's a crossover SUV but has open bed utility. As for the brand thought its not the 1980s anymore Hyundai has come a long way it tech and reliability (not to mention they offer the best power train warranty)so I'm excited to see how the Santa Cruz does.

I am a MOLDMAKER of injection molds. 3D printing is eons away from equaling injection molded parts. In either speed, accuracy or strength. F. D. M. or Resin printing is good for conception modeling of parts. But for production it will never equal 1 to 144 finished parts in less than a minute.

All these other foreign automakers really need to stop trying to be getting in to the pickup truck business! Especially here in the U. S. And realize they will not be as good or better looking than Ford, Chevy, Dodge and Toyota. And Toyota is the only foreign pickup brand I'd drive.
