Doing This Will Make a Dead Car Start Again SeanBZA: Had to do that on a Toyota, but diagnostics were somewhat easier, the distributor was stolen in the street. Phone the agents, and while they have the rotor, they are out of stock of the cap ( with the integrated coil) and the body, expected real soon. Started phoning around all the scrapyards, and was at the W section in the yellow pages, when one did confirm they had a Toyota with a 4Y engine in it still, and it had not been front end smashed. It had been rolled instead. 4Y engine having the distributor stolen is common, as that engine is used in the minibus taxi industry a lot. Drive a Toyota with a 4Y engine your insurance rates are doubled. Asked the price, got the money (was less than the rotor from Toyota) and did some low level flying out there with a 10mm spanner. Took the complete distributor, along with the plug leads, wiring harness, air lines and altitude compensator, plus that very important M6 bolt and the clamp it holds. Then come back, put in the engine, attached all the pipes and cables, look to see timing for no1, align with no1, and put the plug leads in order. Started and timed by ear, tightened the clamp bolt and left it at that.

Hey Scotty. I have an 04 hyundai santa fe 2. 4 L 4-cylinder that seems to be only running on two cylinders. I know what your thinking get rid of it, its a hyundai. i still just might. So I was sitting in a drive through and it just started idling real rough. i knew it was something to do with ignition. While it was running I started by pulling a plug wire off to see if it was a plug issue and noticed no change on two of the the cylinders. So I thought it has to be a coil and replaced it. It only has the two. No change. I had an obd put on it and it says it was the number one cylinder misfiring and it was the CSPS. My question is can a csps go bad to where it would only fire two cylinders and just not work at all or could it be it jumped a few teeth on the gears. If thats the case would it even be worth fixing knowing its a zero clearance engine? any advice on where to start and how?

Hye Scotty Kilmer, So i did buy my first berline car Renault Laguna 3 Celsium, 1, 5dci, 2010. In France, I would like to know your experience or your advice on the reliability of this car, It is equipped with start/stop button and its a Diesel model. I would also like to know the things which i must be aware on that type of car and if running AC with engine off would damage the car? Thanks a lot for all your videos they are really helpfull keep it up: )

Ah, the days when cars were fixable by mechanics, or even the owner. When my computer-controlled 2017 Toyota Corolla SE with a 6 speed manual transmission is paid off in four or so years, I would gladly trade it for a 27 year old Celica, as long as it had a manual transmission. Insurance would be almost nothing compared with what I have. Im worried that with all my cars computers, if there is ever an electronic burp, my car might activate Skynet.

Hi sir, love your videos. Can I ask how much approximately would it cost to replace the timing belt and additional bell and with all the seals for a Lexus Gx470? I was quoted for around 700. My car has 185k miles and the first timing belt was changed at 92k miles. Bayside a timing belt one hours need to be serviced in order for me to keep the vehicle for the next four years? Thanks

Scotty i have an 08 cvpi. I want to dump a 5. 0l and a manual transmission in it. Then weight reduction (anythings lighter than a cvpi trans and the classic 4. 6) then just change the slip diffs to the stangs 4: 10. Ive seen people change the body on frame to be more modern, but is this beneficial? Would doing this be worth it? How do you buy just an engine without gettin haf

Hi Scotty. I own a Toyota Scion IQ. Love the car, no problem on the highway, can travel at 70-80 mph. It is slow off the mark, but once you learn about the VS its good. I regularly get 38-40 mpg. Tank only hold 32 litres. :) I have about 75, 000 miles now. Just wondering what should watch out for and your thoughts in general. Thanks in advance. Michael.

Scotty, my scooter has fuel, spark and starts when any of the fuel injector wires are off, so it gets too much fuel? The throttle position sensor has been checked, works. Is it some o-ring broken in the injector assembly or the ecu failing. Also, only driven for 5000 kilometers and has been sitting for a few years.
