This Product Will Destroy Your Cars Engine Ghostburn70: Daily drive a 2013 5. 0 mustang. Used Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer 2x this past summer. The infamous coyote ticking noise was eliminated as a result. Im not one thats overly concerned with the ticking noise, like alot of these YouTubers that buy a brand new mustang that hasnt gone around the block more than once with less than 5k miles and makes a video about returning the vehicle to ford, LMAO. My car will be 6 years old January 19. 52k miles ( beyond broken in ) and remains in one piece. I went cheap on my last oil change and put full 8 quarts motorcraft blend, instead of 7: 1 mobil1 / Lucas oil, the tick returns. Im not phased by it, just my observation from the experience. I find the lucas stabilizer beneficial in the summer heat.

My parents bought a nice little Honda Civic LX 2003 for about 2000. It is awesome, gets over 100 miles on a fill up, great gas mileage. I have an engine light on, went to auto zone to have them hook up the free diagnostic cable, said something about a possible leak, minor, or a loose gas cap. Bought a new gas cap, light went off for a few days, then came back on. Brother in law and others said they had cars where the engine light was on ever since they had it, never worried about it. Any input? Honda Civic cars pretty good in your opinion? Its pretty quick for a 4 cylinder, top speed shows 150 ( will never go that fast but nice to look at. Turning on this Civic is a beast, grips the corners so easy.

I have a question about the Lucas oil additive that youre OK with putting in, only, older engines. Is it its thickness that cause it to remain protecting the engines metal at start-up (I think it was that %90 of engine wear occurs during start-up before the oil pump circulates the oil drained back to the oil pan) or is there some ingredient thats responsible for it remaining dispersed? If it some special ingredient I would think that using a very small amount (not enough to increase the overall oils weight beyond the manufacturers specified recommendation) to reduce wear during start-up.

Scotty, My question is. Is it ok to use Delo 400/ 15w-40 engine oil in a conventional gasoline engine. It says its for diesel engines yet Ive been using it for years. When I retired my 96 jeep grand Cherokee, it had 300, 000+ miles on it. I bought it with 75k and used this type of oil for the duration of my ownership. Engine strong, everything else worn out. Ive been a mechanic most of my life. But it never hurts to have a second opinion. Having just seen your post on Amazon basics engine oil. I figured lets ask you Thanks in advance Sincerely Steven

Baby it. Yup. I have a nissan sentra 2014 with bad cvt thats on the verge of breaking. Its transmission issue is in the first few shifts of the cvt transmission and the car shakes if you are pressing the gas too hard versus what the cvt can currently handle. My bypass has been using overdrive on/off on the gear shift so that the first shift of the cvt is forced by me manually instead of letting the transmission do it itself. Thats the only thing keeping this car running so long. CVT issue began at 80, 000 miles, Im at 101, 000 and still doing ok.

Scotty what about trying thicker oil or even that Lucas treatment in my 92 chevrolet s10 has 2. 8 v6 its the TBI v6 not carbureted version anyway I have a little bit of a lifter noise sometimes when I rev it up to a certain rpm I can hear it tick and its a 5 speed so around oh say around 3 rpm or so is when I hear it and if my gauge is reading right I have right at 40 pounds of oil pressure warmed up temp at idle I was just wondering should I try Lucas or should I just put 10w30 oil in it. Thanks hope to hear from you?

2013 Accord 2. 4 4cyl. with around 100k miles and noticed on a receipt from the last oil change in June they used 10W30 Mobil1 full synthetic oil. I know they require 0W20. I live in southern CA with pretty hot summers and mild winters. Nights/mornings average around 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit. Im up for my next oil change and wondering should I go back to 0W20? Could 10W30 synthetic oil have caused damage? I just found out they used that viscosity. Any friendly feedback would be of great help.

I have an automatic 2006 Nissan Maxima with 178K, I drive it hard and fast, and have not had issues with it other than a new alternator, a/c compressor and timing belt replacement. As I talk to other Maxima owners, Ive realized most transmission problems they complain about are their fault, transmission starts acting up (normally because a failing crankshaft sensor) people freak out, get regular transmission fluid and overfill their cvt tranny with the wrong fluid.
