Denver has a first class light rail system, ideal for the airport, town centre and a number of suburbs. I purchased a day pass on my last day in Denver for just $9 as I needed to get to the airport in the evening for my flight home, this left the rest of the day to explore the system, I chose to ride the D line from 30th & Downing to Littleton-Mineral. Our light rail train set off from the leafy suburbs of 30th & Downing through Denver City along a route that involved mainly street running with occasional sections of dedicated track. Shortly after Colfax at Auraria we leave the streets to run on dedicated rails adjacent to main line heading towards Colorado Springs and beyond, passing a succession of coal, manifest and a stack trains as far as the end of the line for light rail at Littleton-Mineral

Thanks to recreational marijuana denvers light rail now goes to the airport and has expanded even further throughout the city. It's a very easy way to travel through the city. I think it's like 2. 50 for a one way ticket. And you can use your ticket as a transfer onto the RTD busses just once.

Loved seeing this. I used to live in Colo Springs and would go to Denver with friends when Comic-con was happening at the convention center. I used to see this line pass through while we were waiting to enter the venue. I live in NYC now so I have the OG Subway system to use now XD

Ah, I'm the first to comment! Once again you've come up with the goods, Tim. Great ride! That driver really -put the pedal to the metal- after the 10th & Osage station. The thing I did notice was at each station a ramp at one end of each platform that seemed to have no purpose to it.

Has to be an old video. The D line doesn't go to 30th and Downing anymore. The D starts and stops at 18th and California. The L line goes to 30th and Downing

I'm surprised by the number of freight trains waiting to move. And I thought coal was dead, I guess PRB coal isn't.

This was interesting to watch but the rattling of whatever in that cab was annoying. Had to mute the sound.
