Buna zuia Welcome to this unexpected trip! While I was waiting in Sinaia to go back to Bucharest I suddenly saw a familiar face coming in my direction. I had to record - - TRIP INFORMATION - Date: AUGUST 2023 Railway company: Regio C-l-tori Route: Sinaia to Bucharest Price: 22 RON - 4, 43
Date: 2024-01-09

I am a Romanian living in the UK and I believe that for my home country these are very good trains. The problem I've got with them is that they run on fully electrified routes. From Bucharest to Brasov the line is fully electrified so these trains should not be allowed to run at all on this route. They are polluting the air for no reason. They should be used exclusively on non-electrified routes or on routes that are partially electrified. I hope that the Romanian Government or the EU would one day ban diesel trains from running on fully electrified routes. Here in the UK we have trains from Stadler than can run on Diesel but they can also use the overhead wires.

As a person who lives in the Muntenia region, I have to tell you that Regio Calatori has done an outstanding job in maintaining these trains. The first time they started operating them was around 2018/2020, and since then the trains have been as clean and impeccable as now. I honestly prefer riding Regio Calatori rather than CFR thanks to their superior comfort and lower prices!

They look so modern, quite and faster than anything we have in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands with ScotRail. Plus electric, something we may never see in Inverness. Honestly I was on a train today from Elgin to Inverness on a very old diesel class 158, it was so grubby, diesel so noisy and literally falling apart.

Can I suggest that you change your explanation verbiage to black? White type tends to blend into the background often making reading it difficult. Especially on a cell phone screen.

Never thought I would actually see usable toilets onboard trains in Romania. Really big props to Regio Calatori for bringing and maintaining these trains and also a very nice video!

Maybe Romania wanted French trains to boost their services across Romania. Or maybe it-s because France and Romania does have good relations as both countries are in the EU.

Romanian people are experts in maintaining train stocks from all over Europe! A lot of old French rolling stocks have been sent to Romania where they found -a second life-!

I went to Sinaia in October. Beautiful Romanian town.
Took an IR train from Bucharest and a R train back with the state operator. Thought both trains were good

In the summer, regio calatori is operating from brasov to mangalia, on the seaside, and usually, they don't quite have a/c, so i have mixed feelings about these train sets-

08: 30 Yes, more DMUs will arrive in Romania along the way that are withdrawn from France. The initial desire was for 60 - 70 trains needed to replace the old AMXs.

I'm sure the Romanian lines will get positive Feedback and as long as they can Maintain the Train sets they should be getting more in the future!

Very interesting and enjoyable video! Was this journey, entirely 'under the wires'? If the answer is yes, why was the train not an electric unit?

Trivia -3: 34: French type E outlets were not replaced by type F (e. g. -Schuko-) commonly used in Romania.
