Off Grid Yurt Ripped Apart By Bears - When a Bear Attacks - Ep 53 Sarah: Randomly clicked on this video to watch. I have been watching you for a couple of years now but am just seeing this video. Funny that it was premiered exactly 2 years ago today. I am South of you in Sayward and bears are definitely starting to roam into our little village. When we first moved at the beginning of summer we brought a brand new deep freeze and movers couldn't get it inside the front door. Neighbour came by to introduce himself and the first thing he said was, -That deep freeze will get ripped apart by a bear. - I couldn't believe that a bear could bend metal. Sure enough, at the end of the summer someone posted on our local page a picture of their deep freeze completely bent up at the corner. The bear had come, they chained up the freezer, and the next night it returned and busted up their deep freeze. Aren't we the most fortunate humans to live in such a wildness that we have bears, cougars, and elk visit our homes? Terrifying but amazing!

Off gridders, LMAO. I never saw an off gridders with so much free time. Time to play, pose, set up the camera for a brief visit. And then ask you for money to help them. Get a job, isn't the money you get from you-tube enough? They sell t shirts, something every off gridder does. See this for what it is. They are scam artists, check out the videos of them traveling on your dollar. Off gidders, LMAO. Off gridding like this, can make them up to 300K! Stop the scam.

We have an off grid camp. accessible by water. 5 miles in. And have black bears. We have had them chew into a wall (before we sided with barn boards) and bite into cans, bags of flour and such- they leave such a mess. once (yes, has happened several times) they ripped a cabinet off a wall and left it in splinters. another time took our old gas fridge and bent the wire shelves in it. glad you are all safe. And the destruction wasn-t worse.

Add a shotgun and a. 22 rifle to your gear (you must have at least one gun already) so you can defend your turf and also gather some delicious wild game to your schrooms and veggies! Agree that was no bear. They would not leave any food behind! Even Canadians are allowed to own long guns. Sorry you can't own handguns. They are very handy when you are in the boonies and crazy four-legged (or two-legged) predators show up! Be safe.

Definitely not a bear. A bear wouldn't have done much much more damage and not left until most of the foodstuff would have been destroyed or thrown about. My guess, a racoon. Raccoons are brilliant with their handywork to open things. (the window) If it was a bear it would have been like a bull in a china shop. The RACCOON was content probably carried away a bag of something but will be back. It is not a bear.

Just literally found your series yesterday, so if this has already been asked/answered, my sincere apologies in advance. My question is, how well does the yurt stand up to mother nature, specifically windstorms? Have you experienced and serious storms that have or almost compromised the yurt? Thanks for listening and thanks for sharing your experiences.

Why did she wet the hair to cut with a electric, even battery clipper? It-s not good for the clipper - maybe that-s one you can use in the shower? Normally you would clipper dry. With scissors, yes damp, not wet. The reason for damp with scissors is you can cut to the natural wave which really guy short hair doesn-t matter.

Commenters are Quacky but I-ve watched bobcats try to jump up and rip a hole in the chicken coop behind my house before and it-s made out of plywood they-ll crawl all the way up the wall to the roof in a split second and go to ripping and clawing and pawing trying to break in. That hole is big enough for a cougar or small bear

How far do y-all have to go for supplies? Is there a video about -supply- trips? Cod you get plane drops or something?
Edit>>> never mind. U said -had to drive to town- so I-m assuming y-all are too too far out. Nice.
Something had to have scared the bear off. It didn-t seem to have done much in there.
