Guillermo del Toro narrates a sequence from The Shape of Water, nominated for 13 Oscars, including best picture. Read our review: Jordan: I think this movie did not at all live up to its potential. too much time spent on michael shannon buying a car and richard jenkins flirting with the pie shop guy. There was only like a brief montage of sally hawkins feeding the fishman some eggs and playing him music and suddenly they're soulmates. I think way more time and suspense could have been given to the central relationship in the movie. A shame because some of the scenes are so great, it could have been a perfect movie

Moronic script. Somebody explain to me how a mute cleaning woman gets access to a lab every shift when we know that the facility is a hub of activity DAY AND NIGHT! and yet she stills manages to feed her merman and play music for him? Without anybody noticing? Moronic moronic moronic. of course it's nominated for best original script(although we now know it was stolen. Del Toro, how far you have fallen.

To the fall at Eden, God instituted the correction & unto the woman said he rightfully Your desire shall be to your husband (since she was made from him) & he shall rule over you Lest she who listened to the serpent's Lie, desire after him & be lost forever & to this it seems the devil, the Avatar comes through hollywood minds in the shape of water even grabbing an Oscar.

This is like a reminiscent manifiesto of one of Jorge Luis Borges literature foundation regarding Magic Realism. A pure fixation of imaginative minds that were inspired by the Tierra De Fuego (Land Of Fire) and its mysteries where a conjugation of human intellect and creativity meets natures forms.

I think Eliza was a creature but adapted so that she looks like a human but lost her powers and her gills turn into scars. Or she was abandoned by her water god parents because she was born with 'deformities' that make the baby looks more like a human.

I was background for three different scenes in this movie and watching it later, they were all unrecognizable. Guillermo made everything so gorgeous in post production. Super cool to see his finished vision come out like it did.

I just have a question. I haven't seen the movie but all the scenes I see have her using sign language so I'm just curious, she's obviously not def if she dances to musicals so is she mute or is she using sign language for the creature?

ridiculous movie. was not impressed. so the monster escapes the bathtub and goes to the movies and no one see him. And the room fills with water and they do it. absurd.

Elisa is such an amazing character. As a mute she expresses more emotion than a person that can speak. Sweet and loving but strong.

It's the story of a woman who falls in love with a river god, and where does she keep him? In her bathtub.
