Why People Are Freaking Out On Bella Hadid, Bella Thorne vs Whoopi, & Alaska's Horrifying Catfish KodySFrazier: I think Whoopi isn't thinking this deep into the matter and is on the side of shame the victims but there is a real issue to what people do and what outcomes you can reasonably expect out of a scenario. Let's use the dont have nice things if you dont want to get robbed scenario as a comparison. If I buy nice things and place then into a nice house with a nice security system, cameras etc I can be reasonably sure that my stuff is safe because not only is it locked away behind dead bolt locks that would sound a alarm if they were tampered or broken without a code but also virtually every city also has a fairly well funded police force presence that exists solely to handle these exact situations. On the other side we have risque photos on a cloud. Now we like to believe that our clouds are safe because of encryption and other internet securities but what we need to keep in mind is that for every white hat hacker developing internet security we have likely thousands of black hat hackers looking to undermine that security and further more for every 1 really good white hat we likely have at least 2 or 3 really good black hats undermining each security advancement. In contrast for every criminal willing to break into a house there are tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands good citizens who wouldn't break into a house and at least tens of citizens willing to actively protect physical property. The scenarios are notably different and there should be a significant amount less confidence in the security of our data on our clouds than our confidence in the security of our physical stuff. To be clear this doesn't mean that those who take advantage of the systems in place to do wrong or those who harm others shouldn't be held accountable for their actions but when you do something that involves ignorant security risk its important to understand the degree your actions put you at risk and way whether the risk to send a nude to a loved one is worth the risk particularly when the nudes of a hot model/actress in the digital space has similar value to breaking in and cleaning out the house of a 1%er but with significantly less security to deter it.

If you're famous I don't care how old you are, you don't take nude pictures of yourself. Listen, when they're hacking you, they're hacking all of your stuff. Whether its 1 picture or 1 million pictures, once you take it it goes into the cloud. If you don't know that in 2019, that this is an issue, I'm sorry you don't get to do that. Paraphrased from Whoopi. Let's break this down. 1. Shes basically saying what we all know, that people of fame are targets for hacking and nude leaks. 2. The hacking is a problem. 3. The outrage that people feel for being hacked, who are famous, is uncalled for. Because of the fame and spotlight they are targets. Bella equated that to telling young women they are nasty and deserve to be raped. That because you took the photo, you deserve to be hacked and leaked. This is entirely not true. This should have led to a bigger conversation about privacy and security, which isn't what is happening here. Whoopi has declared, that in 2019 you know the risks of taking nudes and that you know you are a target, you can't get mad when it happens to you. This is where I say, get mad; mad about the lack of privacy, mad about the poor cyber security of your account. This situation is basically about people of power (aka ) and how they should have a right to privacy. How cyber security is still lacking. It reminds me of my youth. Making false equivalencies just to fight or because I wasn't actually listening, only hearing to respond. Bella is making things worse by being reactionary and not listening to the truth. This should have been a rally call to protect PEOPLE from hackers, instead it was made about rape and youth. Why? attention and outrage. Whoopi said nothing about gender and broadened it every time someone tried to focus on the split hairs of the situation.

This Tale of Two Bellas was somewhat interesting. Both took photos of themselves, both posted them online and both are shocked when people put their two cents in that don't agree with their context. Bella One showed some remorse and took ownership, as what the photo implied is a real offence in many countries overseas. Bella Two got mad but, not at the hacker whose life she didn't want to ruin, the one who got into her cloud account and allegedly blackmailed her photos. Instead Bella Two got mad at the opinion of another female celebrity who has been in the hot seat years before, obviously stating the pitfalls of celebrities repeatedly posting personal images in virtual media. Bella Two this will not stop with you Remember that you had the chance to nip this in the proverbial bud when they do it again to someone else without your power or influence. Most importantly, It is deeply upsetting when a young life that is so trusting is cut short There is no amount of punishment that can be done to these people who do crimes like this. Seems there is no remorse as the main concern is not getting paid. I am just surprised the perpetrator's names and images were shown here as I thought it was against your platform's stance.

Hoesntly whoopi isn't wrong either, and neither is bella. When you are a celebrity you are on the potential to be hacked any time any where more than us regulars. I wouldn't even take my phone in to the bathroom without the cameras being covered by tape. And while bella is right in the analogy, rape and this is not wanted and neither should be blamed on the victim, but at some point in time you have to be proactive in what you do and where you do it. If you go to a shady town with a high crime rate wearing real gold and diamond jewelry, you WILL get robbed. If you go to a bar and leave your drink unattended or don't have a reliable friend or party to watch out for you, and you get piss drunk your chances of getting raped are higher, while that's not blaming the victim but you need to be accountable of your own security because heaven knows no one in this world would do it for you. You do not go to bed unlocking your doors hoping the neighbor will be your guard for the night? That's the same thing with anything that's precious to you, and your emotional stability and sanity

Whoopi's not someone I've ever heard talk on issues before. I hope she isn't normally this wrong about things. The real message we need to be putting out is that the naked body is natural and not something to be ashamed of. Nude leakers need to be punsiehd severely, but nude leak victims need to understand that they are unharmed. Which they so rarely seem to feel in these cases. I hate that people put so much stock in the idea that keeping themself covered means keeping their self worth. And that being seen naked makes them trash. A very sick mindset prevalent in America. Telling victims they're just idiots is putting another layer of harm on a culture that needs fixing. Cover up harder is not a solution. Also Bella's story is obviously super fake. Also I hate that I started to wonder if Whoopi has any nudes. I did not mean to cross my thoughts like that. A grand mistake has been made.

Pragmatically, I understand where Whoopi was coming from. It is objectively true that in this day and age, as a famous individual, you should be wary of what content you put out there. However, IDEALLY, NO one should have to worry about that. And I believe that Whoopi's rhetoric would have benefited from including that latter concept. The way she went about her point was of someone who was all vindication and no empathy. No matter how right you are, that is not the way to go about explaining it, in most circumstances at least. Having said that, Bella's answer was clearly over the top, which makes it much more difficult to sympathize with her as well. She had the opposite issue, in that, although she was right to be irate with Whoopi, choosing not to recognize the validity of her point, and instead focusing solely on the callousness of it, does her response no favors in my eyes.

Whoopi was trying to say if you take a nude picture, there is no reason you should feel safe that it will not end up in the hands of someone it's not supposed to. That threat quadruples if you're a public figure because the image isn't just a picture its gossip and gossip gets attention. Maybe what Whoopi said came off as harsh because she addresses Bella and not the perpetrators. But honestly, people are going to do things to you. It's up to YOU to defend yourself against threats. In my opinion, it's naive not to weigh the consequences of your actions because you think society should operate fairly. It doesn't. I'm sorry ladies, if you're drunk in public without a caregiver you leave yourself open. It's a harsh fact, but a fact nonetheless. The world is full of predators. If you're lax with your defenses expect bad things to happen.

dude Idk about all that bella shit. Though Bella sounds like an emotional wreck that's going to try and destroy anyone that doesn't coddle her like a small child. I thinks its clear that what happened to her pictures and privacy is really awful but i just think the whole thing is really weird and immature. Like Whoopi never said flat out you should be ashamed of your self etc. Like, hardly anyone is going to say what they really think because they dont want to be harassed and have words put in their mouth. Like Whoopi sounded like a mom telling her daughter to think about the times we are living in and Bella sounded like a young girl mad at her mother. The whole thing is just weird. There are people dying and children living in poverty.

Whoopi Goldberg sounds like an absolutely reasonable adult, and Bella Thorne is reacting like a dumb and hysterical teenager. When you are super rich and/or famous there are some things you just should not do, it comes with the money and status. You should not go out without a bodyguard because you may be assaulted, harassed or kidnapped. Even though those things should not happen, but they probably will. You should not make nudes or any compromising photos unless you are totally fine with them been all over the internet and it will not hurt your image. Your long-distant boyfriend can train his memory and imagination and jerk off without the visual aids. You watch what you say because it may actually cost you your career.

I think Whoopi's argument is that you are in denial if you think that you can take pictures and not expect it to be on an internet network that is accessible. I think this is the wrong way to think think about the issue because the issue is not that she uploaded things knowing this but that someone would break into an online space which is identified as being ostensibly hers and took information from there. Whoopi is completely missing the point. It's like she's blaming someone for having valuables in a house that then got robbed. It should be criminal and prosecutable (even if the person is a minor) when such breaches are made in the same way you can hold someone who robs someone else accountable.
