A WOMAN who turned her life around with fitness and determination is teaching others to live life without limits. Misty Diaz, 34, was born with Myelomeningocele - a form of Spina Bifida which affects the spinal canal at birth. Rather than let this debilitate her, Misty has made a name for herself in both modelling and adaptive fitness and is now using her experiences to help others with similar conditions

Everyone wants to live. Their are people that fill sorry for them selves. What a pity party. Then there's people with a disability and think positive and make a decision to fight and do whatever it takes to live a life on their own terms. To do whatever it takes. This can get really deep. People that have disabilities, it can be physical, mental, a way of life growing up. It's all about the individual person and their mindset. We all are only human. We all have a brain. We all have the choice to change our own lives.

I was born with severe Spina Bifida Occulta a Doctor called it. Unfortunately, I wasn't told about this condition by a radiologist until I was 50 (I'm now 72, despite having back x-rays from age 18 for work. The Doc said it's amazing I never became paralyzed due to my playing of contact sports in and outside of school growing up, and having a fairly physical job most of my life. He also said it's no wonder I've had severe back pain since I was 16. You're amazing Misty!

I also have Spina Bifida and am sad we-re still considered second class citizens and products of the devil. Sad when transgenders get more support. I do get down about it but then I think of all the things that helped shape me as a woman. I-m just like everyone else, except I learn how to do things a little different.

I just searched for spina bifida and saw your video. Since I also have spina or just like you have it.
Very impressive how fit you are.
For this new year I also take me to go to the gym.
Keep up the good work!
Greetings from Munich

What a difference with a video of someone I just saw with acne.
The person with acne wasnt able to cope at all. As if the world ended.
And then you see this. A way more positive oriented person having a serious condition,
