If we all went vegan, we would have enough food and water to supply the starving. It takes a significantly higher amount of plants and water to feed animals which are consumed for food, than if we all ate the plants directly. Then there'd be enough for all.
(edit) I love her intentions and drive- And this is a great solution since she is helping solve a problem that can be done NOW without requiring change from everyone. Very cool.

That is so good that's a lot of food in England being wasted imagine in America and Europe billions and billions of food wasted every single day and people around the world are starving how can that be. this proves the point of I've always been saying there's more than enough food on the stomach for everybody all 7 billion of us has plenty of food but we wasted and squander it like the resources on this planet.
reply

There-s certain third world countries that do the same thing.
By same I mean, because they are so poor and cannot feed their families due to lack of income, they go dumpster diving and clean and cook the food and sell it. They eat some of it as well.
This is a brilliant idea and not something common in America or the UK.

Market it to the vegans and hipsters and donate the profits to charity if you want to help even more people. Those suckers will pay a lot of money for this kind of stuff, I've seen hipstery vegan restaurants that sell 2 dollars worth of spinach and cucumber for like 30 bucks.

Food waste in this case just means food that the stores just throw out for any reason. It isn't bad or mouldy or anything, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't subject people to that. Most food waste is perfectly good food that could be used to feed the hungry.

This is amazing! Not only is she saving food from being unnecessarily thrown out but she's also giving it to people in need. I hope she's able to continue this!
Also by the looks of that food the chef definitely has a career ahead of him!

Shows what happens when -Everyone- is included. Her idea of a community means everyone with no exclusions. That is one inspiring young lady. She has not done it before, but she is willing to do it

I have not bought anything but beer from the stores in a month, i can get like 50-90 fresh breads every day, all just laying there in a sealed bag waiting to rot in a dump.

I can-t stand food to be wasted! On the weekends I make bigger meals & give it away to my neighbors. One of my neighbors pays me for it & it covers the cost of food.

We would never see this in ths US, and it would be against the law for a 17 year old. Good God (and I don't use his name in vain) keep doing what you're doing!

she is not like any other teens who lust over a glamorous lifestyle rather than find something use full to do like help her community she has got big hopes

YESSS THIS IS AMAZING. I need to step up my game. I only simply cut down my plastic use. I might open a no waste grocery store in the future.

Nasty, cheap food but the hospital bill will be expensive to pump that crap out, food is something you shouldn't be a cheapskate about.

The chef deserves more credit than this girl, for turning actual waste food into restaurant dishes and making it taste good too.
reply

Its hard to believe that the community is suffering from -food poverty- when everyone who showed up to the restaurant is obese.

If I have anything goin bad or not goin to use it I call mo mom or sister and see if they want to make something out of it

It-s amazing she gets a shot at doing what she loves and the inspiring chefs get experience! What an awesome idea
reply

Yeah no. This is just a disease waiting to happen.
I understand the concept, it sounds nice, but this is gross.

reply

Interesting, I just collected waste food tonight. Maybe I should try this too. Way too much food goes to waste!
