My skin condition has no cure - born different

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
A 23-YEAR-OLD with a rare skin condition isn-t letting her disease stop her from doing what she wants - even getting tattoos. Paloma Lira from Sao Paulo, Brazil was born with congenital lamellar ichthyosis, a condition which causes the skin to become extremely dry and scaly. The genetic disease has no cure, and Paloma has to have a strict care routine to soothe her skin - especially during the hotter months. When Paloma was a child, she was frequently bullied for her skin condition - however now as an adult she refuses to allow anything to get in her way. She has even had tattoos and frequently tries out different makeup looks

People get bullied with problems like this because parents don't teach their kids the 5 second rule, and no not the one that applies to food. The 5 second rule is that if the person cannot fix the issue with in 5 seconds, you have no right to comment, or point it out. If someone has food in their teeth, you can politely tell them and they can fix it. But if someone like this has a skin condition that they can't just immediately put lotion on and fix, then people do not have the right to say or bully them about it. Bullying is never okay, especially with things that people cannot control

You definitely don't need anyones approval to feel beautiful except your own approval. I wish parents woulds teach their kids at a young age that not everyone is the same yet we are all equal to one another. Just because she has a health condition it doesn't make her any different from those without a medical condition.

I hate when people get treated poorly, or bullied because of a condition they have no control over. She has awesome positivity and she has an awesome family, wish her all the best! --

People are awful for insulting her appearance, but if she doesn-t care what people think, then why use so many filters, in every single photo? I-ve never understood the point of that.

You look just good, nothing shocking. Just a bit different from normal people. Then again, everyone is different in our own ways.
That's the beauty of this world, isn't it?

My mom said the same thing about my tattoos. lol I like her confidence. So many people live their lives not knowing how powerful they are.
