video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
WHEN she was born, Laxmi had excess skin on her face which led to her having difficulty eating and breathing. At just eight months old, Laxmi underwent surgery on her face which gave her the appearance of having two noses. Her mother, Sarvesh said she was told there was no guarantee Laxmi would get better but now, the seven-year-old does not have many issues. In her village in Uttar Pradesh, India, people treat her as an incarnation of a Deity and come to her for blessings which she says -feels good. - Sarvesh said: -Laxmi is very lucky. Our lives have changed since she was born. We-re all better off with Laxmi in our lives

Diprosopus
Although classically considered conjoined twinning (which it resembles, diprosopus is not normally due to the fusion or incomplete separation of two embryos. It is the result of abnormal activity by the protein SHH (sonic hedgehog.
SHH and its corresponding gene have been found to play an important role in signaling craniofacial patterning during embryonic development. Among other things, SHH governs the width of facial features. In excess it leads to widening of facial features and to duplication of facial structures. The greater the widening, the more structures are duplicated, often in a mirror image form. This has been demonstrated in the laboratory by introducing pellets of the SHH protein into chicken embryos, resulting in chickens with duplicate beaks. Inadequate amounts of that protein lead to opposite conditions such as cyclopia where facial features are insufficiently developed.
Healthy brain development is also dependent on the signaling function of SHH. During embryonic development, SHH directs embryonic cells to organize in specific areas that later become specialized neural tissues, thus controlling the size and shape of brain structures.

As an Indian I will say this a deformed country will produce deformed citizens.
These unfortunate people have no access to proper healthcare, standard facilities and are regularly consuming adulterated food and breathing in polluted air. This passes down from the mother and effects the offspring in the womb. Almost around 70% of people being born are deformed according to stats in the country.

It looks more like cranial duplication in my opinion. she has more than two nostrils, her teeth are separated down the middle and the surgery scars indicate that perhaps a third eye could have been removed at some point. Otherwise I don-t understand how it would be possible for this child to breathe out of two nose parts so far apart. I would love to see an xray of the skeletal structure underneath.

-We're all better off with Laxmi in our lives. - Bless! -
I wish every child born, knew that their existence made their family's life better, no matter the challenges they or their family might face.

She's so cute with her beautiful smile, I'm glad she doesn't have any problems because of it and can have a normal. Her parents should be commended for making sure of that, such a sweet little girl

It seems as though India has a large number of -very rare- birth defects. The way people respond is far different than many places, seeing these children as reincarnated deities, instead of freaks.

She is so beautiful. Both her eyes and her features remind me so much of Lilo from the movie Lilo and stitch. Her eyes are so beautiful and captivating especially when she smiles.

This happens so often in those countries. It has to be the environment that is causing this. Nonetheless, she is still beautiful. She has her mothers eyes and they look lovely.

She seems like a happy bubbly kid.
I hope she does not lose that spirit.
Society can be tough but as long as she has loved ones around then everything will be alright.

The money Modi Government spend for creating communal violence, that huge amount of money could easily save children like her.

She needs craniofacial surgery, there is a before picture of a girl like her and after she got craniofacial she looked normal.

why do these unfortunate babies mostly occur in poor countries? maybe too many germs, unhealthy food, unhealthy environment?
reply

Stop worshipping the child, its not for human to be worshipped. You parents are just maximising on the child mutation.
