Living with cystic acne can be difficult but these individuals have learnt to embrace their condition Robyn: I have been through acne as a teenager at 42 I still have some scars that really bother me I've done all kinds of Cosmetic procedures. Honestly, this video was kind of hard for me to watch. I put it in my watch later cause I just didn't want to see it I didn't want to see people being so out there. I mean age is a great gift. I used to never let anybody see me without makeup and lost out on many fun opportunities because of it now. I truly don't care about that I'm in the car right now driving somewhere with no make up on at 8 AM lol. This is the deepest video I've watched in a long time. Bravo to you!
Ps. NOTHING HELPED BUT ACCUTANE. It was extremely hard to find a Dr. to oversee my treatment. Finally I found my life saver Doc and it was HELLISH but it worked WONDERFULLY! Definitely a last choice but highly recommended -!

This is nice to see. I had great skin until I reached the 8th grade back in 2003. Out of nowhere my face burst out with all these pimples and I later found out I had mild acne. The acne was mostly on my cheeks. I was so embarrassed that I would try my best to hide my face but this didn't help as I was still made fun of. Even people I thought were my friends made fun of me and this only made me feel worse. When I got to the 10th grade I finally got help from a doctor and within two years my acne was gone. Today I am acne free and luckily I didn't pick at my face when I had acne so I have no scares. I built back my confidence and feel great. Oh and those people I thought were friends. Well I cut them out of my life forever and when I bump into them I simply make as if they don't exist.

The first woman is still so gorgeous
My heart broke for her. those pictures look so painful, like it-s beyond acne. it resembled burns
She-s so strong. Digging deep is something every person has to do, at least once in their lives. We all have different reasons for it, but it-s necessary for growth and more often than not, is the result of great pain.
She-s blossoming into a beautiful, well rounded person, who truly loves and believes in herself.
As horrible as her skin condition is, like many other horrible things that can happen to someone, it birthed a better version, in many ways, of life than what was being lived previously.

Wow that looks so painful. I started getting acne also in my twenties, in my forties now and still get one around that time of the month. Cystic ance is not like normal acne it's so much bigger deeper and stays around what feels like forever.
Much respect to these ladies. All of you ladies are very beautiful.
Kirt with DRESS Syndrome what a traumatic transformation. It's great to see that you overcame this and became stronger. You're beautiful inside and out. I just wanted to say that your skin is as unique as you are. You have taken this experience like a champion and now you can educate others about medicine dangers.

i once woke up and instead of face i had on something that felt like a leather mask. i had acne. i spent that wkd reading all scientific literature on acne and utilized my newfound knowledge to end its progression instantly and for years i utilized my knowledge to be 100 percent pimple free. now idgaf and can eat chocolate and a pint of ice cream every night weeks on end and i only get like one tiny pimple per week even tho i am predisposed to acne. it sucks people are too lazy to study and just accept the -facts- morbidly obese nutritionists spout.

I have terrible cystic acne. It has really exploded this last year. Nothing has really changed. I also take injections for Psoriasis. Cystic acne is so painful, people who haven't dealt with it don't know that it's an actual illness. It's not hygiene related. I've been taking antibiotics, and hormones blockers which have helped. I also have melasma all over my face, and now am developing the dreaded melasma mustache. But I own it now. I don't like wearing makeup, and only do so when I go to events. As long as my hair is done then I feel alright -

I had acne when I was on my teens. Doctor told me to cut out sweets and chocolate, so I did. Didn't help a bit. He told me to get more sun it would dry up the oil and make the acne go away. I tried that and my acne got worse! I soon realized it was the SUN making my acne and making it worse. It may not be dairy causing your acne. Try different things being cut out. It could be an allergy to something. Hang in there, you are strong! You'll get through this and anyone worth knowing, will see the person you are and not the outside.

All versions of acne will dissipate when you eat clean. Eating clean means no meat, dairy, processed foods, or acidic foods such as hybrid foods ex; Carrots, broccoli, cabbage, peas, white rice, lemons, ALL SEEDLESS FRUITS, potatoes (sweet included, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, corn starch, pea protein, white bread, almonds, cashews, eggs, pistachios, wheat, and the list goes on. Drink burdock root and apply to the skin daily as a toner. It helps with acne and eczema. You're all welcome -

You're all gorgeous, this is an important video. I went off the birth control pill after 6 years, and suddenly I was allergic to gluten. It caused painful cystic acne, especially under the cheekbone and under the jaw. After I quit gluten, including barley and contaminated oats, it cleared up 100%
SO I quit dairy too, and I no longer had wrinkles even! I was 34 when it all started, now I'm 52 and strangers compliment my skin

I was on Accutane when my acne was horrible in high school and work. It got rid of my acne now i have scarred. So i had to switch to a cleaning lotion, mandalic acid 5% and steam and use hydrating sheet mask. I don't wash my face in the morning. Face is getting better. I still feel self conscious about my skin. I look at korean boyfriend face clear and smooth. He tells me i love you.

I deeply feel and understand exactly what you all is talking about. only people who have this kind of disease knows how much it hurts, specially inside, we feel that we are not good enough, so many judgement by people that think that the acne is because we have a lack of hygiene.
I have been struggling with my skin since my 16 years old, now they were gone, but left scars.

Finally after 30+ years of adult acne I am able to control acne. Many treatments later, it was a change to skin prep and from the inside out routine of hair skin and nails, and a lifetime trip of various medicines - took years finally to get a good RX to help.
It's painful in so many ways. Esp. Cystic Acne like seen here.

I remember when my face used to be similar to this. Crazy thing that helped me was to stop washing my face and drinking black coffee (bustelo) once every morning. Sometimes even twice in the day. My face legit changed like it was night and day. Also defferin every night after i rinse my face with just water.

I was wondering have any of these people tried Noxzema, you use it in the morning and before the go to bed. They can put the Noxzema on wet or dry skin. Leave the Noxzema on for about 10 to 20 minutes. Your skin might get a little worse in the beginning, that means it pulling the stuff up.

Our Daughter had bad acne. She did not want us to help her. She took control of it, and it did take several years to clear up. We know she did change her diet. Proud of all of you girls having the positivity, and determination to deal with this as our Daughter did.

I had cystic acne like this very bad and painful. With makeup you still see the bumps and texture. I finally went on Accutane but then found out I had Ulcerative Colitis which was the true cause of my acne. Cystic acne is caused by an internal issue.

P. s. makeup makes the skin worst. Eliminate it and excercise to sweat the toxins out. And a fish, vegetable and fruit diet and a good skin product will help. Don't forget to moisturize and get a good face SpF 50. cervae is a good one

I don't think people, especially men, understand the severe impact hormonal birth control can have on a woman's body. I feel for her.
Apparently spironolactone and Aczone can help especially if you're off the b. c.

You are all truly beautiful, the haters are the true ugly ones and they have to live with that hatred they carry every day. I heard apple cider vinegar was good for acne to daub all over and it's natural, no chemicals.

When my birth control needed to be switched (every 5 years) I started to get horrible acne.
I changed it and my skin went back to normal. I'm worried if I were to come off it if I would get horrible acne.

I remember going through a few years of severe acne on my face and it was such a dark time for me. By far, acne really can take a toll on our confidence and mental health. I hope she stays strong!
