Scientists tend to be careful and resistant to big claims. So evidence for the possible end of the living world took a while to be seen as such. In this episode of Crash Course History of Science, Hank talks to us about where Climate Science started and how it works today

Climate Change is powered by the increase of Global temperature as CO2 and green house gasses accumulate in our atmosphere. These increased concentration is the result of using fossil fuels to power our vehicles, and other human and non-human activities that results the release of CO2 and other green house gasses. Also thermal pollution from the heat islands created by men, contributed to this. We should remember that the end point of energy transformation is to produce -waste heat-. Whatever happens in the future, we have a role to play. We should remember our own responsibility whether to make a stand to fight Carbon emission, fight the companies that produces pollution, or to stop our own selves from using technologies that would would give waste products that destroys our environment further. Climate Science is very important. We should remember that geological epoch is brought about by changes in the Climate in the past.

3: 34 -. many scientist had overcome their conservatism. - This is the quote that rubs people the wrong way and displays the political slant of this video. How about if left-leaning scientist would overcome their left leaning secular brainwashed thinking and become normal. I think that would help. Gee, left-wing scientist can predict climate 50 years out but can't predict it over the next 3 years.

This was incredibly wishy washy. No mention that Capitalocene is called such because it identifies the unending consumption of Capitalism as a major factor in climate change. No mention that 100 corporations cause more emissions than the rest of humanity put together? And no mention that these corporations have CEOs with names and addresses?

I can't imagine working at a PR company to help the fossil fuel industry spread misinformation about climate change. You're essentially betraying the planet and the entire human race for profit. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the human capacity for selfishness and greed. I just don't know how these people live with themselves.

This is a note to say that we presented the research and subsequent burying of the research of Tyrone Hayes in a simplified manner, which made it a bad example to illustrate the point we were trying to make, so we've removed it from the video. Thanks to everyone who pointed it out, we really appreciate it.

I think you fail to properly explain the problem with the idea of 'the anthropocene', mainly that the Holocene is ALREADY based almost entirely around being the period humans live in, based purely on geology and biological groups, little has changed since the Pleistocene when compared to say, the Carboniferous-Permian boundry

Send this video to China and India(biggest producers of pollution, NOT tax the American people billions and send it a corrupt bureaucratic agency like the UN.
Gender -bias- in science exist because men tend to go into the hard sciences more, the TWO genders think differently hence our choices.

Except Callender had it backwards. higher temps CAUSE higher CO2. ooops
You see increased sunspot activity correlates LINEARLY with increased earth surface temperature AND increased Venus surface temperature. ooops
I guess Chinese factories are not increasing Venus surface temp.
Oooops

Throwing around loaded terms like -capitalocene- and making bald assertions that climate or any scientists are somehow responsible for determining ethics for the rest of society is a great way to expose your political bias. I loved CrashCourse History but will no longer watch your videos.

Where is Higgs boson particle in science? It is a big discovery and it needs as much recognition as Einstein's special relativity. You should think about doing a video on that too. Because it has enhanced the scope of particle physics.
