In order to create a magnetic field with electricity, you need to use alternating current. This is because only alternating current can be used in transformers. Transformers work by using the changing magnetic fields to transfer electrical energy from one coil of wire to another. A basic transformer has two coils of wire, called the primary and secondary coils. The primary coil is connected to the power source, and the secondary coil is connected to the device that needs power. When the current flows through the primary coil, it creates a changing magnetic field. This magnetic field passes through the secondary coil, causing it to create an electric current.
An electrical transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled conductorsthe transformer's coils. The transformer's input and output power are usually measured in volts-amperes (VA. It is possible to design a transformer with an output power greater than its input power, but this requires the use of special construction techniques and materials.
The working principle of a transformer is based on Faraday's law of induction. When an electric current flows through the primary coil, a magnetic field is created. This magnetic field interacts with the secondary coil, inducing an electric current in it. The magnitude of the induced current depends on the number of turns in the secondary coil and the strength of the magnetic field.
Transformers can be used to increase or decrease the voltage level of an electric signal.

Thank you: ) is there a video on how high voltage results in low current for AC current; this is very difficult to understand and I've searched the internet for hours with no satisfying answer. V=IR makes this seem counterintuitive; I know this can be explained with P=VI but I don't understand why this is the case when it would seem a higher V would results in higher I.

If the inner coils are your lower voltage, (secondary windings) and your outer coils are your higher voltage (primary windings, wouldn't the inner coils then be the star configuration with 4 bushings. Electricity in the UK is stepped down from 11kV to 400/230, using a neutral so I thought the configuration would be the opposite of what it is in this video.

It is a pleasure to revisit these subjects in the comfort of mine own domicile, without the presence of dorky teenage boys who are just flat-out not interested. Seriously, these dorks got apprenticeships, and became trusted to muck about with electrical equipment. If you asked them what Ohm's Law is, you might get a giggle and a who-gives shrug. Scary, eh?

As a music producer who is just trying to wrap his head around the very most basic elements of electricity, I found watching until the 3: 30 mark to be a sufficient base understanding. For now anyway.

According the law of energy conservation, when6the voltage is being stepped up the current should descress subsequently. However, according to ohm's law, and increase in voltage will lead to an increase in current given the same resistance. These two rule seems to cotridict one another, how does that work?

With those green boxes are called transformers. They are connected directly to a power plant, making sure that it doesnt overload your house with a bunch of power coming through it without those if he tried loading in a lightbulb, it would mostly just burn out immediately

I like the way you show the rotating magnets in relationship to the sine wave. If you stop the video at peak voltage and 0 volts and notice the position of the magnet it helps in understanding this important point. The plus or minus in AC is directional flow?

I always love your video with the visual and explanation. It will be great to show the number calculation how square root of 3 is derived and how 480v transforms to 208v. A lot of engineer probably dont know how to derive these numbers

The most amazing thing about this is that it is completely contactless. There is NO direct connection between the power station and your home, and is infact broken at several points along the way, but it still works.

Will magnet as a core (instead of iron piece) make any difference to the amount of the magnetic flux/power resulted?
If it is, does it affect the voltage generated? or the amperage?

Why/how does the current reduce when the voltage is increased in a step-up transformer? I thought that by ohm's law, current and voltage increase together given the same resistance.

sorry, I am a bit confused on increasing voltage, but decreasing current. It would seem just the opposite. Are you saying voltage and current are not the same? please explain.

If we can not change the power in secondary winding by reducing voltage or current in the primary winding, why we need to use transformer? I mean if current if V1>V2 then I1

I think this is what is lacking in the conversation when it comes to how electricity works on a AC Generator, they never mention how it is connected to a transformer.
