Can someone help me?
The homeowner desires that a ceiling fan with light kits be installed in 5 different rooms.
Each fan contains a light kit that can accomodate four 60-watt lamps. Each fan motor draws a current of 1. 8 amperes when operated on high speed.
It is assumed that each fan can operate more than three hours at a time and therefore must be considered a continuos-duty device. The fans are to be connected to a 15-ampere circuit.
Because the devices are continuos duty, the circuit current must be limited to 80% of the continuos connected load.
How many fans can be connected to a single 15-ampere circuit?
I have an answet i just dont know if i did it correcltly TIA

I have a question:
Why does in your 1st illustration of delta connection using a bus bar, U1 is connected to W2 then V1 is connected to U2 and W1 is connected to V2 (2: 45 to 3: 16 of the video)
but when you showed your 2nd illustration of delta connection by introducing a contactor to the diagram, the connection somewhat became different if you I analyzed it correctly, the U1 became connected to V2 then V1 became connected to W2 and W1 became connected to U2. (4: 45 to 5: 01 of the video.
Is it okay? Are there no any problem that will occur even we interchanged the motor terminal groupings/connection compared to your 1st illustration?

reply

Lets gets some uniformity into this.
In the diagram, the Delta connection for line 1 for example is U1 joined to W2 which is the same if you use the linking strap provided by the motor manufacturer.
Then when you show the wiring with the Delta contactor L1 connecting to the motor, U1 is connected to V2.
U1 could never be connected to V2 physically with the straps provide by the motor manufacturer. because it would be a diagonal link.
Top left to bottom right. Why try and make that connection with the Delta contactor?
Good video and presentation, just needs to be accurate.

Please correct me if im wrong, this is confusing
When he connect the motor in delta without contactor and use connecting plate the connection is
U1 to W2
V1 to U2
W1 to V2.
Thats the reason why the phase is already arrange in this manners. so, when using contactor there is no need to change the configuration since the contactor is only replacement of the connecting plate to make it automatic
But when he used contactor he also change the phase connection?
U1 to V2
V1 to W2
W1 to U2
Please correct me if im wrong

this is very good, I am not a Sparky but build phase converters, when I wired in Delta it was fine when I tried wiring in Star the motor got really hot, I'm thinking the input lines were not on the correct terminals as you showed, here, plus i was trying to force 400 colts from the single phase using big run caps, not knowing this was impossible, 3 ph 230 out was easy, only 50 micro fared caps

Hi great content as always, I just have a question in regards to the delta contractor. Why is it if you were to set up a delta configuration in the motor terminal you would connect the red wire to blue wire, yellow wire to red wire and blue wire to yellow wire. But when using the delta contractor you have connected the red to yellow, yellow to blue and blue to red? Please clarify why this is.

The way you connected the cables from the delta contactor to the bottom side of the coils looks wrong to me, i think your delta connection will make the motor spin backward.
The color on the cables on the bottom of the motor connection box should be the same order the colors at top, just as you put the metal connectors parallel with each other.

Good video.
But the output of the Delta contactor does not connect U1 to W2, V1 to U2 and W1 to V2 as in the delta diagram and as the 3 linki straps would be be fitted for a permanent delta connection at the motor.
It would be interesting to try the diagram to see if the rotation is the same when changing from star to delta.

Just started building my knowledge on electrical engineering so let me know if Im completely off. The whole delta star setup seems like a pretty complicated way of reducing voltage and amps in the circuit. Wouldnt a number of parallel wired resistors in descending resistance with automated switches do the trick?

you don't know how much you helped me, I wish I could have a 3d explanation of every topic that is difficult to unedrstand, thank you very very much, at present time I am not able to support you but believe me I'm going to really pay you when I will be capable of, thank you thank you very much

Hello all, I hope someone responds. Ive been watching this video for my electrical test and I noticed that the delta contactor does not respect the bridge delta connection of u1-w2/v1-u2/w1-v2. Some join I need to understand if Im in the wrong or the video I need to make sure lol. Thanks all

Can someone please check and tell me if there is an error in this video.
At the start it shows the delta configuration U1-U2-V1-V2-W1-W2
Then when it shows the wiring of the delta contactor it goes U1-U2-W1-W2-V1-V2
is the delta contactor not incorrectly wired in the drawing?

I got a project coming up, need to connect a 3 phase inverter on to a Star Delta Connection, I cant get to the motor terminal box, but can access cables at the 12 terminal Local 3 phase Isolator, Any input on the connection would be greatly appreciated. Not much marking on the cables.

Please help, the delta connection in contactor is kinna confusing. in first explanation, delta configuration is u1-w2, v1-u2, w1-v2. but in 2nd explanation with contactor, the connection is u1-v2, v1-w2, w1-u2. please help can anyone explain why?
reply

I may be wrong, but at 5: 00 shouldnt the wire from V2 be conneted into the L3 and also U2-L2 W2-LI, effectively W2-V2, V1-U2 and U1-W2 would be connected together making a delta connection, but they are flipped again
reply

U1and W2 should have same color input, U2 and V1 should have same color input, W1 and V2 should have same color input. please cross check once again. I learned it from your video. but got confused at the connection.
reply

Confusing
At minute 3: 00 we see a simple delta configuration as follows U1-W2, V1-U2, W1-V2. But after minute 5: 00, with the contactors in place, shows U1-V2, V1-W2, W1-U2. Can someone please explain please?

reply

i have a question. refer to time 5. 09 in the video.
the L1 phase line which starts above the main contactor and goes through the delta contactor,
should it be connector to w2 port instead of V2 port?

reply

When you connect the delta connection through a contactor it should be short the( U1 and W2, (V1and U2, (W1 and V2) node but your connection is another way which not similar before you you show that.

I have a question about this video. You explain why its good to start on Star/Wye because it pulls much less amps, but whats the benefit of switching to Delta after startup?
Thanks!

reply

How are motors made higher power? Like what is it that makes them draw more current? It cant be the resistance of the coils as higher resistance lower current so please help
reply

Thank you for the great explanation. I have been working maintenance in factory and this video is very helpful to me and please creat for generator processes. please
reply

star voltage is 58% of delta
star current is 33% of delta
So power of star is 1/3 of delta?
how it happened when use same motor
Help me this problem sir

reply

Why did you connect the Delta connect with the connector different from when you demontsratwd earleir? For eg L1 to U1 and W2. L2 to U2 and V1 and L3 to W1 and V2?
reply

hi, enjoy watching your videos, just at 9: 19 you dividing 20 amp by square root of 3 to get 34. 6 amps? is that correct or did you mean multiplying it instead?
reply

For delta i think U1 connecting to W2 and W1 connecting to V2 is also ok as you explained in the beginning at the end it is U1 to V2, W1 to U2 and V1 to W2

I wanted to create electro magnet I use with copper wire and with phone battery and iron nail but not magnet and also create spark I don't know why

Thanks you so much sir for making this videos. i know how you effort to make video in easiest manner sir. once again thank you so much sir

Why go from star to delta?
If you start in star and you stay in star will it damage the engine?
Can you start in star without a starter?

reply

Very helpful and easy to understand. Can you make a video on how to connect from the start till the end please I have exams next month
