but if conventional current doesn't reflect reality, why do we still use it? I believe actual electron current was found decades if not a century ago, why couldn't engineers change to this since this time? if it's indifferent, why not use? or if it's indifferent and we don't use it, why do we need to talk about it? shouldn't be more straightforward to use electron current? isn't being straightforward is one of the most important engineering principles?

Suppose we have a wire connected to only negative end of battery, we know there will be some surface charges on the wire in order to cancel the electric field produced by the battery. So does it mean battery has accumulated some net positive charge? But textbooks says batteries can't accumulate charges. This should change it's potential too

I'll be honest for some reason I always thought that electricity flowed from positive to negative but now that I've started an engineering apprenticeship, I've wanted answers to my questions. Thank you for your explanations and videos. it's truly sad that teachers and school curriculums could not explain it this well. :)

so basically an anode loses electrons due to the electrolyte forcing it to, which makes it positively charged, and a cathode gains electrons making it negatively charged and it loses ions, and the process keeps going until the battery dies and a charger connects to an electrode which reverses the reaction

This might be simple, and I might be over thinking it, but how do the electrons travel through multiple batteries placed in series like at 13: 24 if the positive and negative do not make contact inside the battery?

Best I have seen. 9: 49 from where that free electron comes from? Im guessing Some Zn electrons go to the cathode beside the ones going to the anode? Or it comes from the already closed circuit? Thanks

Interesting and informative - APART FROM misusing the word battery all the way through. The word CELL should have been used. A battery is series combination of 2 or more cells.

The larger batteries must be capable of running longer and providing more current as they are larger. The C and D batteries hold more chemical reactions than AA, AAA or AAAA?

I guess my only confusion with understanding batteries after watching this video is how a separator is able to let OH- go through but not electrons which are much smaller.

Is that an anode at 3: 51? You just said at 3: 10 that the barrier will separate the anode and CATHODE from direct contact. Someone, plz explain?
