The Legend of the Bermuda Triangle

The Legend of the Bermuda Triangle

The Legend of the Bermuda Triangle As LEMMiNO implies, the Bermuda Triangle is a spurious invention.
This area has:
1) Many shallow places, banks and reefs, sometimes right next to very deep areas.
2) Some very strong currents e. g. the Gulf Stream.
3) Capricious weather. Strong tropical squalls can arise suddenly seemingly out of nowhere and be very localised. To say nothing of the hurricane season.
4) A great deal of traffic, from small fishing boats and yachts to freighters and tankers. Aircraft from small private planes to international jets.
It is hardly surprising that sometimes things go wrong and something disappears without trace.
Lloyds of London, the worlds premier shipping insurers, attach no special premium to traffic in the -triangle-.
Indeed, you can invent any area of the world - the -Hawaiian Square-, the -Japanese Hexagon-, the -South Atlantic Dodecagon- and find records of shipping or planes that disappeared without trace.
The bottom line is - Sometimes bad things happen at sea.

Most of the more -mysterious- incidents occurred during a time where ships and aircraft were far more prone to fatal and destructive issues. Is it really surprising that a ton of old wooden ships were lost at sea in that area hundreds of years ago? Also, planes crashed FAR more often during the 20th century because of simple poor maintenance and training of crews. Modern safety procedures and regulations on maintenance have reduced these events greatly. Only a small number have occurred during the modern day, and these are hardly a -mystery-. A private plane crashing in the ocean isn't that unlikely for example. Private planes are notoriously more dangerous than commercial flights due to relaxed flight time requirements to pilot a private plane. So that isn't so unusual, and neither is the destruction of small civilian boats sailing into terrible weather at sea.

I grew up in the late 80s and what is sometimes lost, is the context of the zeitgeist.
we used to have -paranormal encyclopedia- and some books -on the UFO phenomenon- but it was lumped into myths as giants, loch ness etc.
You would sporadically hear references to -these legends- but without internet there was also nothing more as the personal imagination. The -bermuda triangle- was such an abstract concept that people would have had some imagination about the legend but would not have the geographical insight to even place it in a map or place those stories on a map overlapping -the bermuda triangle-
It was one of these stories with a life on its own. Without much access (or determination) to information. One wuld pick up a book from some author -donig the research- if you'd be interested. Just fueling the mystique.

There is an explanation for all these disappearances
In 1943 the Philadelphia experiment proved conclusively that a very strong electromagnetic field can transport ships and people into the future
It was done twice, once without a crew, once with a crew
Compasses malfunctioning point directly to a strong electromagnetic field
Flight 19 and all other planes, ships and submarines if they reported Compass failures would all have been transported into the future
No wonder no traces have been found
The electromagnetic field originates probably from the sea floor
If a search of the sea floor could be organised the cause of all these happening could be stopped
Maybe there is a pyramid down on the sea floor

The Star Tiger wasn't even in the Bermuda Triangle when it disappeared. It was north of the Triangle. No one ever said that there weren't disappearances in or around the Triangle that were the result of natural causes, as there are plenty of sunken ships and crashed planes on the ocean floor in the Triangle. But, as J. Allen Hynek once said about his work for the U. S. Air Force's Project Blue Book, while 90% of UFO sightings could be explained away as either hoaxes, natural phenomena, or cases of mistaken identity, there were those 10% of cases that were unidentifiable and defied explanation. There are a number of disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle that are just too bizarre to explain.

The most likely explanation of the Bermuda Triangle is exactly the same as for the semi-true myth -most accidents happen within 5mi of your home--no shit Sherlock, that-s also where you drive the most, that means nothing. Any real study of events would have to take into account that -per capita- metric to even see if the effect still even stands. I think if it does still stand after that, it would be good to look into the true north vs magnetic north phenomenon that was at one point most prevalent there and compare it to the other equivalent area on the other side of the Earth and see if they have the same effects on -disappearances- and explore from there.

Maritime insurance rates are no higher for vessels traveling in the triangle. It's been pointed out that you can draw a triangle anywhere and create a dangerous area to be wary of. There's an Alaska Triangle as well. The creator of this story is alleged to have created it during a slow news day to spice things up. I loved reading books on the Triangle as a kid, I think Charles Berlitz wrote a great one but reality is much more boring than the excitement created in me as a youth.

It-s not surprising at all to hear about those old planes going missing. That is basically primitive technology compared to what we have now even from just a health and safety point of view. These things no doubt just crashed in the ocean and, look at them, they-re made of metal they-ll just sink into a deep part of the ocean and be lost forever. I bet it happened all over the ocean but these are only relevant because of the triangle. Still scares me tho.

Why do a lot of the shady things happen where the island or continent of Atlantis(or Atlantean empire) was claimed to be by a fair share of historians/cartographers? Plane-ship disappearances, magnetic stuff malfunctioning, pilots allegedly seeing -sky opening up-, point on earth where one is furthest from civilisation, UAP sightings etc? If crashed, have any of the wreckages been found via modern sea-floor mapping(or at least as deep as it can scan?
reply

Why are people so adamant? Because we're hungry for magic and true mystery. Because life is difficult, full of loss and suffering and we look for something else, something incredible and bigger than us. Because there's no place for our dreams in a completely material world. Because we're anchored into a mundane existence with no meaning. Because we're humans and we always look for something more, beyond and truly amazing.

I'm glad that the myths of my childhood are being dispelled, but it does make me a little sad. I do remember quizzing my father about this and him asking me very simply -if it is such a dangerous part of the planet, why isn't it being reported on the news and why aren't they subverting all traffic in and around that area? -
reply

There is a natural phenomenon occurs in the Bermuda Triangle, which causes planes or ships to disappear and appear elsewhere. This phenomenon has not been discovered by humans yet. If humans discover this phenomenon and utilize it scientifically, it will revolutionize the world of transportation

Back In 2003 my father uncle was coming to from the keys to somewhere instead of the triangle ( I forget where) anyways that night his boat got stuck in a storm and i t started to capsize. He managed to get to the life raft, he was at sea for 2 1/2 days before a cargo ship picked him up
reply

its a navigational problem not a monster. Bermude is a very small island if you get your calculations wrong you get lost and run out of fuel and disappear for good. no monster there just nav problems. every navigator knows that.

For the star planes they also had square windows, square windows were discontinued for causing stress on the airframe and a few of them even imploded when pressuring or depressurizing. So that's another plausible cause.
reply

The Bermuda Triangle may have a higher density than the rest of the world, but the rest of the world has unexplained disappearances too, they-re no less likely (per traffic) in Bermuda than anywhere else

i know i left a comment on this video a year ago but im leaving another one now as im rewatching. i would LOVE to watch you debunk the -missing 411- thing. please, god, someone debunk it.

I'm sorry but I'm crying at 18: 50 -where [did] all these planes, ships, and possibly submarines. go? - -I'm going to take a wild stab at this and say the ocean. - LEMMiNO's humor >>>>

-this area is cursed, more tragedies happen here then anywhere-
-where is it? -
-the most travelled piece of ocean throughout history-
-story checks out, its ghosts and aliens-

So now you know guys. if you get -lost- just go back from where you came using your compass. and always remember you have fuel limit, so try not to get lost after you spent 50% of it.
reply

I heard that there is a gap in our ozone or something and that pushes air down causing plans to crash and bad storms for boats. If anyone knows more about this please reply!

What about other anomalies you left out? The bright flashes and lights the circular cloud formations, time difference anomalies? And yes we do need a bigger triangle

With regard to the Deering it should be noted in the 1920s Caribbean Islands were a favorite base of for Rum Runners. It could have been a victim of the mob.

Bermuda Triangle is just a rumour just to make it famous they made up hell lot of stories u know western countries have always been attention seeker --

I don-t think anyone gives a shit about a Bermuda Triangle in an ocean on Earth, no mystery. It-s time for a Bermuda Triangle in space somewhere.

It-s basically just lore. Same shit with aliens and UFOs, ghosts and all other fantasies. It-s all a bunch of made up nonsense and it sucks lol.

That awkward moment when you commit mutiny to get a ship but then you get chased by pirates and have to run aground
We-ve all been there

reply

There's definitely gotta be something going on down there, (either natural or other) w/ all these documented & unexplained events.
reply

How come they cant find the wreckage? The flying boat shouldve been able to ditch safely on the water after all its a flying boat.
