In this video we will be having a closer look on how to drive MOSFETs. That means I will show you different examples on how to turn on/off a MOSFET with a microcontroller. We will investigate why and how much gate current is flowing and how the gate capacitance pretty much forces us to use a MOSFET driver at some point. Along the way you will also learn about what bootstrapping is and when to use it and you will hear a tiny bit about a gate-drive transformer

Great explanation! I knew a bit about MOSFET drivers, but still, I've learned something new from this video: ) I'm currently experimenting with gate drive transformers, and I think it is an excellent topic for a video because many people don't know how and why to use them. If there is one thing that would fit here, that is a video about snubber networks: )
Thanks for the awesome video and explanation.

I have a BBS02 750 watt ebike motor. If I wanted to upgrade the mosfets in something like that, is it as simple as getting ones that can handle more current or are their other factors I need to be aware of. They are 25 amp mosfets at 52 volts and I am looking for some with a rating of 30 amps because when I ride my bike, it approaches the limit of the mosfets when the battery voltage is high. Thank you.

Hey I am trying to fix a BENINCA barrier and the remote type is LO. T2WMS and can you make a video about how to fix it please but I don't know the type of the barrier but I know that its orange and it is for a huge underground basement

Another reason to use MOSFET driver: cross-conduction prevention that could prevent your Metal Oxide Silicon Field Effect Transistor into becoming Magically Obliterated, Smoke n' Fire Emitting Transistor in a bridge configuration.

When i watched your videos the first time i thought electronics engineering is what i want.
Now i am in third year Bcs electronics engineering just solving equations over and over
: )
It is not like the videos

Your ability to deMystify some aspects of electronic engineering is of great credit to you, You have helped me so very much as a Mature student (I am 62 and still learning) Many thanks and keep up the good work!

If a MOSFET driver can switch high voltages and current, when would one use it instead of a relay, say in automotive or line voltage applications?
