Let's retrace on a map a summary of WWI, the so-called Great War. This video summarises the period since the rise of nationalism in the middle of the 19th century until the signing of peace treaties after 1918

7: 52 The rebellious Armenians massacred the Turkish people for independence in the regions to the east of the Ottoman Empire, regardless of women or children. Thereupon, the Ottomans wanted to distribute the Armenian influence in those regions to different regions. However, the financial situation of the Ottoman Empire was not strong enough to do this perfectly. That's why some of the Armenians lost their lives. Why should the Turks, who have been in friendly relations with the Armenians for centuries, massacre the Armenians? this is unacceptable. In addition, the killing of innocent Turkish civilians in the east should not be ignored.

The end of the war is/was the ultimate example of the victors writing the history books.
Notably the provision of the Treaty Of Versailles in which Germany and its allies were solely to blame for the war.
What made that ridiculous was the fact that the Triple Entete and it's allies did as much, perhaps more, to escalate the situation as Germany and its allies did.
Didn't exactly see the Triple Entete and its allies attempt to calm/descalate the situation did you?
In retrospect, the terms of that treaty all but guaranteed another world war

this video is a historical falsification, it completely skips the fight between Austria and Serbia where little Serbia completely beat Austria. While the Allies were losing on all fronts, Serbia won and suppressed the Austro-Hungarians (especially in the famous Battle of Cer) and that was the first Allied victory in the First World War. Serbia fell only when it was attacked from all sides simultaneously by Austria, Germany and Bulgaria, and even then it fought fiercely.

3: 20 - so I don't make fun of myself for being strictly English-speaking very often, but when I heard this dude's name getting asassinated, my first though was but what about Archduke Franz Ferdinand and HIS wife that I've heard about during every instance of my WWI education? .Took a couple of listens to hear it

A little note, After Bulgaria surrendered, The treaty of Neuilly saw them lose not only western thrace, which you showed on video but also minor territory to Yugoslavia. The small panhandle in the south along with minor pockets of territory are given to Yugoslavia.

A minor miracle of precis and compression. Obviously, slightly over-compressed in places - no room for the decisive October Offensive that turned the tide of the war? - but what can you do, in under 20 minutes. Well played sirs, well played.

Had Bismarck been around, I don't think he would've gone after neutral countries, such as the US.
Bismarck would've wanted to keep the US out of the war because he was aware of their rising status as a military and naval power.

On the Dardanellen there were also somewhat 3. 000 German troops involved, which fought beside the Ottamans. furthermore, Lt. Erwin Rommel recived his Poure le Merite for his actions against the Italians in the Alpes.

Fun fact here:
Germany actually tried persuading Austria-Hungary to give Italy the territory it wanted in order to keep Italy from going to war against the Central Powers.
Austria refused and the rest is history.

Now say what you will about Bismarck, but he was the only one who could successful juggle all the various alliances and such to keep France isolated
Once he was ousted, that whole system collapsed.

The western interest was only to weaken, cripple, and destroy the strong european nations. Germany was frustrated? Hungary still frustrated from the injustice humiliation after 100 years.
reply

People always try to downplay German superiority in both world wars, yet anytime you look at coloured maps of both sides it's Germany against half or more of the entire world.

The Armenian genocide is not based on official arguments the reality is that the Armenians entered a civil war with the Ottoman Empire and both sides suffered serious losses.
