Part 2 of Epic History TV's story of the First Crusade continues with the Siege of Antioch. The Crusaders endure immense hardships outside the city walls, but finally take Antioch thanks to a ruse by Bohemond of Taranto. Against the odds, and inspired by their recent discovery of a relic believed to be the 'Holy Lance', the Crusaders then defeat the Seljuk army of Kur Burgha. After disagreements within the Crusader camp, the army finally moves on to Jerusalem in the spring of 1099. During a full-scale assault of the city walls, Godfrey of Bouillon's troops gain a foothold in the defences, and Crusader troops pour into the city. A bloodbath follows. Victory results in the creation of four Crusader states, but their existence is precarious, surrounded by hostile Muslim powers, who will one day return with a vengeance. Ver en espaol

Hydra I don't know what fly is stinging you my poor man, but you should calm down a little First, at the time, the inhabitants of France were called the Franks, no matter if they were descended from Germanics (Franks) or Gallo-Romans. Then it was in 1204 that the King of France, Philippe Auguste, changed his title, until then he called himself King of the Franks from that date he was now called King of France. The qualifier France is a deformation of Francs, more precisely of Francie, which gives France, that is to say, the country of the Franks Now, at the base the Franks are Germanic, but once these Franks had conquered Gaul, with time (between the year 500 and the year 900) these Franks are Gallo-Romanized, they are mixed with the local population, they adopted the vulgar Latin of the Gallo Romans (primitive French) so that by the year 900 there was no longer any fundamental difference between the nobles who descended in part from the Frankish warriors and the peasants gallo romans Now my rabid little ignoramus, in 1095, when the crusades began, whether it was the king, the nobles, the knights, the simple soldiers and the peasants, all of them, they all called themselves Franks. Even if they are not descended from the Franks. The nobles descend in part by the Franks including the King of France. But all speak French, they live in Western Francia and they have the same religion the same culture and the same language: French, a Romance language because they are French, none speak German. The French word comes from Francs. So calm down and go open a story book then take a cold shower. it will do you good

You failed to mention the story of the first man that made it to Jerusalem's walls, the legendary Pazzino de Pazzi. Being the first crusader to enter the city, he was awarded with some stones coming from the Holy Grave and which are still preserved to this day in Florence and were used in the ritual of the Schioppo del Carro

I mean it was the Crusades against Turks, not Christians against Muslims because before the first crusade, the Turks invaded Arabia and converted the Arabs to Muslims and to the Seljuq culture. What I want to say is that the Arabs/persians was the enemy of Muslims and Seljuqs

Being a Christian, I really love this history but also feel sorry for the loses of human being and animals, but this was their age, its normal for them to survive, its their political and way of life

This is so saturated with bias I can only imagine what is written about the OEF campaigns: I guarantee I will have much to contest! That's what you get for using only one resource - inaccuracy!

imagine all these knights who abandoned everything for the holyland would see the state of europe now, i be they would rise from the ground in a fourth crusade in there homeland

Watching to many historian videos, it's noteworthy how European elite and hate propaganda always charged up men so much whenever they break into there were no limits to violence

They were badasses for sure. The Germans during the 3rd Crusade beat the Ottomans bad and took their capitol. If the Bazantines had any balls they could have capitalized.

YA alexios broke the treaty 1st, as far as bohemond knew lol. I'd honestly side with him because the won purely by devotion, even though starving
reply

the holy war became a barbaric war because they had sadistically killed Muslims and jews and historians said where the blood was spilled in the city
reply

Sympathizes with Muslim fanatics, only focuses on the fanatics and oppression of one side and not the other. Typical for the times we live in.

To live, to war and to die is part of man's nature, the battle continues todate and the next chapter is to be written soon.
