RFK Speaks After MLK Killed - Flashback - History Professor: Growing up, I only knew that President John F. Kennedy had a brother named Bobby. Though I also knew that both were assassinated, JFK in Dallas and RFK in California during his presidential campaign, I was taught almost nothing else about the Kennedy family's legacy and influence. I didn't live through those times, because I am only 20 years old I have no true understanding of the struggles the US had at that time, such as the ones Martin Luther King fought for. It is a shame that JFK's legacy shadows that of RFK, because Bobby Kennedy seemed to be a sincere and driven man who truly cared about the people he knew and America as a whole. He was also an excellent speaker, knowing how to draw you in and connect with his audience as he did here through referring to his brother's murder. Bobby's -Ripple of Hope- speech he gave in South Africa (I think that's where he gave it) is another excellent speech, should you be looking for another RFK speech

In the days since George Floyd-s murder at the hands of a police officer and his accomplices, I have been searching for this level of leadership. I am sad to say nobody - not a white or person of color - has risen to the occasion. We are left to search through the history pages of America to find this kind of moral courage, and for that, I am thankful for the words of Bobby Kennedy. May God have mercy on us all.

Why did you leave out RFK's call to prayer? It was a crucial part of the short speech. -So I ask you to return home, to say a prayer for the family of Martin Luther King -- yeah, it's true -- but more importantly to say a prayer for our own country, which all of us love -- a prayer for understanding and that compassion of which I spoke. -

I remember this so well. Where are the Kennedy descendants? This video should be played at protests. Robert Kennedy would have made a good, if not great president. I was living in LA that horrible night. My plan was to go to the Ambassador Hotel but my lift fell through. A good film about that night -Bobby- I can highly recommend.

In his impromptu remarks right after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy recalled the slaying of his own brother and quoted Aeschylus: -In our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God. -

Imagine if Trump had made a speech like this during the Black Lives Matter protests last year. I'm sure even at the time this speech had its detractors but there's something to be said for a public figure saying these things, especially about how we need to make an effort to understand each other better.

Dr MLK Jr is also Don King. He faked his death to play a new role because he is a money hungry satanist. He makes his hair look crazy like that so that no one would recognize him. But if you do a side by side of don king and MLK, you find an exact match.

Mr. -When the looting starts the shooting starts- could learn something from Kennedy about how to address your nation in a time of distress (nevermind that the looting was started by undercover cops and not by the people who were protesting)

I actually wrote a report on Bobby Kennedy because he was a GOOD AND CARING MAN! I will forever love this speech and I will forever feel terrible that America lost an actual good politician.

I am of mixed race. Native, Black and Austro-Hungarian. As such, I wish I could weep as if all felt my pain. Yet I know so many could care less about a minorities plight.

Fun fact. Then Indianapolis Mayor Richard Lugar, advised the Kennedy campaign not to make the stop and that he -could not guarantee their safety-.

There were no riots in Indianapolis that night. One man calmed an entire crowd & nothing burned in that town that night.

This is an excellent example of leadership and compassion. Quite a stark contrast to the divider in chief we have today.
