Our grandparents and great-grandparents also fought in WW2 also.
But we didn-t get a hero-s welcome.
To this day, a lot our -great veterans which we love, no one loves veterans more than me- are literally getting deported, despite having a contract. Service for Citizenship.

Another thing that the Tuskegee Airman were denied, access to the GI Bill! They didn't get to go to college with the GI Bill or get loans with the GI Bills. Some of it was due to segregation- colleges didn't allow blacks and some wouldn't sell houses to blacks!

I remember when I was a kid. My dad is a history nut. One of the first things he tought me was the Tuskegee Airmen. I remember I couldn't imagine why people treated other people like that. Brave people in those aircraft.

Those fellas earned full respect. Glad they got it. Sorry that southern America treated minorities like filth for all too long. Their sour attitude was the filth.

The fact that B-17 crews requested / demanded the Tuskegee Airmen fly escort on their missions proves what an asset they were to the Allied's victory.

Thanks for you service. I think that over 30 years of accolades, movies, books and honors should be good enough by now.

sad that it still persists to this day to a lesser degree but it still exists --and you don-t have to be black

I met several of the Tuskegee Airmen at Waltoborough Army Airfield, in 1997, where many of them had trained.
