There was a person who misunderstood and made a mistake, so I will comment. The Mustang is certainly a great fighter. That's no doubt. However, it wasn't always a hundred battles against Japanese military aircraft. Well, no matter how good the aircraft performance is, it's a human being, so I get tired and injured. In fact, there were -Mustang killer- such as Colonel Chloe, who wants to be black, but stilNeedless to say, it had an advantage over the Mustang and Japanese aircraft.

I'm so glad we got these firsthand accounts from these heroes before they were gone. One of the things I regret most is not getting the life stories of my grandparents before they passed. Now, I have so many questions about my family that no one can answer because those who have the answers are no longer with us.
Kids, I know you may think your grandparents stories are boring now, but when you are old enough to appreciate it, it might be too late.

Interesting videos but the only problem is the videos only show the heroic side of the Americans. Never the Japanese side. I am sure the Japanese are equally heroic as well but I have not seen any video focusing on them. Just like when we watch the cowboys and red indians shows in the past. The red indians were always depicted as savages. Who are actually the savages? Need I say more?

Japanese mistreatment of POWs was quite notorious for cruelty. Particularly in 1945 when the situation was extremely unfavorable for Japanese side, anti-American sentiments were peaked among Japanese people who witnessed a lot of noncombatants were killed and injured. Probably some captued Americans were slaughtered by angry Japanese mobs.

I remember I watched this episode when I was younger, when the zero shot down the P-51, I was so upset, that I was ideating about the other mustang activating some cannon on its wing and shoot it down lol, P-51 was my most favorite WW2 plane back then, and it still is.

Spitfires were an excellent defensive fighter, BUT the P51 being able to escort the B-17s all the way to Berlin and while the 17s were bombing Berlin the P51s went looking for targets of opportunity like trains, factories, or air fields.

By june 1945 there were no more good Japanese pilots or very few of them. Japanese pilots were undertrained, with old planes or new planes badly made.
But it doesn't mean that US pilots were not courageous.

The reason why people were so angry to the shot down US pilot was because these people lost their family members, namely, children, parents and sisters and bothers by the shooting from these US fighters.

Comic book level history. Many pilots of WW2 have written books on it. Try some of those. Try it. You'll learn more, not have to watch repeat graphics or commercials. And you can do it when you want!

I really enjoyed this series even bought the series on DVD from a thrift store for $4. Would have been nice to see some other nations featured a bit more very biased towards Americans.

I love watching and reading about history. My Dad was at Iwo Jima, Okinawa, then Inchon to Chosin in Korea then made two tours in Veitnam. Was Reservist between WW2 and Korea.

I knew the wingman was good as dead as soon as I learned he had bailed out over Japan. The Japanese civilians and military were merciless towards downed allied airmen.

Gotta disagree the mustang did make a contribution but it was the F6F and the F4U that cleared the sky of Japanese fighters
