Lincoln Abolishes Slavery with the 13th Amendment - Abraham Lincoln
video description
Missouri actually had two competing governments; one loyal to, and recognized by the Union, and one loyal to the Confederacy. Lincoln also exempted selected areas of the Confederacy that had already come under Union control in hopes of gaining the loyalty of white people in those states.
In practice, then, the Emancipation Proclamation didn-t immediately free a single enslaved person, as the only places it applied were places where the federal government had no control-the Southern states currently fighting against the Union.

In the Proclamation itself, made public on September 17, Lincoln repeated his desire to compensate slaveholders within the Union for the emancipation of their slaves, and to promote colonization. However, this was only a proposal; the President made no attempt to free the slaves in the four slave states that had remained in the Union, nor in those parts of the Confederacy that were under Union control. The only slaves whom he unilaterally declared free were those in territory controlled by the Confederates, and who were therefore entirely beyond his power to free. Moreover, Lincoln promised the states of the Confederacy that their practice of slavery would remain unmolested if they stopped their -rebellion- within 100 days.

Lies, he made us ALL slaves of the govt.
Lincoln was a traitor, he killed more americans, than ANYONE in history.
He didnt free slaves for morality.
He did it so blacks could be taxed, bc slaves couldnt be taxed.
He was a illuminati hero, he imposed taxes on the people who left england bc of taxes.
HONEST abe - is only a mere euphemism kind of like calling the fat guy Slim. Abraham Lincoln was a traitor a murderer and a thief

Back when Presidents actually cared to do their job. Nowadays all we have are clowns posing as a political figure but in reality they-re just puppets. R. I. P. to all our past presidents. Especially the ones that got assasinated because those were the ones who made the biggest most historical change that other people seen as a threat to the agenda. Thank you God for those who made such a good change in this country.

More of a play on words when today our government basterdizes that meaning as im sure he didnt mean so lock up citizens by quota whenever possible even lie and be crooked to ransom free labor in exchange for three days off every month for working for free

I-m sorry, but as a person who has a history degree, and still studies history for fun (because I LOVE history, why would you have Obummer commenting on Lincoln! Because he-s Black! Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN! THE FIRST REPUBLICAN! Obummer IS THE MOST ESTABLISHED DEMOCRAT OF THEM ALL; besides Hillary. Other than that, beautiful video of President Lincoln.

never happened. slavery is still legal. look at the constitution it clearly states that sates have the right to enslave for breaking the law. so pass a law and get how many more slaves. land of the free is a lie. look at the amount of theft connie donnie has done thru either false bankruptcy's or strait out theft. yet never any jail time for him.

He didn't end slavery. The 13th Amendment did, eight months after his passing. Check out the Corwin Agreement and the Morill Act. If the South had returned to the Union and ratified, as the Northern States had done, the Corwin Agreement it would have become the 13th Amendment and slavery would be legal today. Unless a state ended it themselves.

If time machines were invented. I would bring a group of people to save Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, and John Kennedy from their unfortunate fate of assassination. It's a shame to see that has to be what their more remembered for than their work in office. As well as other American icons such as Martin Luther King Jr.

-My paramount objective in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not to save or destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all slaves I would do it; and if I could save it be freeing some and leaving others alone I would do that. - - Abraham Lincoln

-Lincoln Abolishes Slavery With the 13th Amendment-. Hmm. I was under the impression that Lincoln was president, and the president has no role whatsoever in the process of amending the constitution. BS title, giving credit to a president who likely flagrantly violated the constitutional rights of citizens more than any other.

We just exchanged one form of Slavery for another. We just use the guise of calling them -job or rehab programs- to make ourselves feel better about it. Then pay them the equivalent of someone who worked for min wage in 60's or 70's if they are lucky. Some don't even break 20 cents.

When Lincoln was shot and he lay dead on the bed, Edwin Stanton said: -There lies the greatest ruler of men the world has ever seen-.
This shows the character of Lincoln who rose from abject poverty to become probably the greatest of all the Presidents of USA
How many agree?

And to think that we have democrats, still to this day, are trying to revise history, chastising Lincoln-s name, and still divisive with identity politics as their cornerstone. This tome around, it-s to push Marxism with a lot of them and being racist while they do it.

Then the 13th amendment was written and in no less than line ONE. gave massive incentive to make state slaves by locking up those who are deemed ripe for stealing and inarguably putting them in a WORSE place once these systems inevitably grew.

Lincoln is a hero for abolishing slavery! If only Lincoln could see how much we love him for it. I for one am so glad he stopped slavery so that we people today don-t become like these wicked southerners and plantation owners.

Wow that was a powerful speech, and masterly made clip. I wished we still sought to be the best we can be, and know that it is a journey, it is a social justice matter, and it is one that affect us all. Or should.
