What can we learn from the past? Pandemic mental health accounts are strikingly familiar Bluebelle51: My grandmother lost her older brother and sister to the flu, her brother was about to ship to WW1 when he contracted it and he didn't make it home.
When I was living in Oakland, I wandered through an old cemetery and noticed there was a section that was covered in brambles and weeds, I made my way through the overgrowth and realized there were graves there, when I looked at the markers there were entire families buried in single graves and they were all victims of the flu.
The saddest one was a family of four, all buried together, twin babies and their parents but names unknown

Those people having to struggle through that pandemic with only masks, basic sanitation and lockdowns.
We now have amazing vaccines that will dramatically reduce the incidence of infection and death and now people are so politically divided, misinformed, ignorant or just pig-headed that they refuse to take them.
The people of 100 years ago would have given anything for a vaccine and here we are, getting them readily and for free and yet they are still refused.
Darwinism at work I guess.

There was a large difference.
The 'refrigeration at the time were iceboxes.
modern refrigeration didn't take place until 1923, where refrigerators didn't explode, and weren't the size of a room.
That, along with indoor stoves, helped keep food healthier for longer.
But what happens when you're trying to feed without refrigeration?
The trusty delivery man is in the hospital or the company has been forced to closed.
How can you feed your family if you cannot feed yourself?

So the spanish flu didn't come from Spain?
The reason it is called the Spanish flu is because Spain was not censoring their news outlet while everywhere else was.
Also, How isolation really causes mental damage to myself so I know how those victims felt in isolation fear of the Spanish Flu.

Great video. It's sad to see that we are making the exact same mistakes. I do hope history does repeat based on the end of this video as well and the end result of this pandemic is that we all become better, more connected, and caring people that care for and relate to our neighbors.

Please stop saying Spanish Flu. It's the same thing as saying China Virus.
Old racism must be left in the past, and modern racism must be cut down without mercy.
I'm glad you include the historical context behind the name, but the fact remains: it's inaccurate.

Its kind of a coincidence that the flu happened during WW1. I wonder if there is something to the conspiracy theories that said it was spread on purpose. Maybe the powers that be wanted to ensure the population decreased sufficiently.

This is a plandemic. It should not be happening as a cheap effective treatment is readily available. The suppression of these treatments is criminal and those who have participated in it are complicit in murder

At least we know and understand what viruses are and how they mutate over time. In 1918 they knew what bacteria were but had no knowledge of what a virus was. You need a scanning electron microscope to see a virus.

And under the new administration things are reopening and it is all great. Just wear a mask. Lot of 2 faced whiners out there. Super video that helps give context to current situation, though. Well done. Thank you.

No altruism today, or at least not nearly enough. this is what happens when everyone is solely concerned with themselves. We are witnessing the beginning of the end of civilization thanks to predatory capitalism.

I heard on Fox News that Dr Fauci's grandfather created the Spanish Flu. And then later was reincarnated as John F. Kennedy Jr. to run the Deep State cabal. On a flat earth. That is 6000 years old. Really.

After watching how the media overhyped the Rona, makes me question the Spanish flu narrative. Which was 100 yrs ago before we had the internet, so information was even more censored and controlled.
reply

The current virus was created in China, funded by democrat politicians from the US. I wonder if the Spanish flu was also created and intentionally spread.
reply

Spanish warned the world about a pandemic and what does everyone do, blame the Spanish by calling it the Spanish flu. Tired of being the scapegoat.

The last part brought tears to my eyes, its always such a beautiful thing to see people coming together thank you for helping us remember our past
reply

It is sad to see the future we are living compared to 1918 hasn't changed much. So, this is why not learning from history we humans repeat it.
reply

Trvmp's grandfather died from the Spanish flu, one of the early cases. One would think his grandson would've learned something from it.
