How did Mexico React to the Zimmerman Telegram? Documentary
video description
1) Put himself as the saviour and near messiah that would correct the nation, essentially sowing a very authoritarian image about himself in everyone else's minds
2) Commit a sort of treason against the 2 biggest and most influential warlords that he had allied himself with previously, for almost no reason
3) Give a shitton of power and authority to two of his most bloodthirsty generals in order to defeat the aforementioned warlords, generals that definetly weren't treacherous nor had any sorts of authoritharian ambitions (One of those two would go on to proclaim himseld Maximum chief of the revolution years later after everyone ele was dead btw.
Tbh the Mexican revolution is so interesting its a wonder why no-one has picked it up to make a historical drama or smth, i abridged and overly simplify stuff but come on the basic outline is already very drama filled and has many twists and turns, there are like 5 different backstabbings between historical characters and shit, like damn.

Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Peru, and all countrys that get ravished by money influenced by money may god have mercy on their soul please god for they not know to sit at the table with capitalist( cartels) and make a deal based on land. You do you and these countries can finally build and industry not based on services but based on knowledge. And if they break blood they need to nuke that land for a man( power) that breaks his signature disgraces everything that ancestors have built for us. Lets make a deal and bring the world together. Everybody wants to eat, the lions will always eat. My friends I heard a white man say( I love white people) white people have white privilege I said no my brother the only privilege is education

I have to think that the Germans admitted sending the cable (and if it hadn't been sent, may have just fabricated it) just to gamble that the US might still whoop on Mexico for even thinking of joining the war. Mexico correctly saw that they were just getting used. How on earth are they gonna send troops they don't have to fight for a country they aren't even that close to and who couldn't deliver anything they promised. Reclaim Texas and Cali? How about just getting to the Gulf coast without getting killed?

Holding territory in the United States is virtually impossible. Even if an invading army faced no military resistance, the sheer number of gun-toting Americans isn't conducive to occupation. It was one of the fears after the US Civil War, as a matter of fact. Thankfully, rather than resorting to guerrilla warfare, the south listened to General Lee and remained (mostly) peaceful in rejoining the union.

Germany did it taking advantage of the fact that Mexico and the United States were on the brink of war since a revolutionary attacked Columbus for selling him blank bullets. This caused a persecution against him with the limitation of the Mexican government. The limitation was not complied with and a small battle was fought between Mexicans and the US punitive forces (Battle of Carrizal)

I wonder if Mexico wasn't having their issues would they have tried it. Just imagine Mexico being a part of the US. Because I'm sure if they got involved. Lost by picking the wrong side. That we would've taken more of not all of Mexico. But what if they were united and were able to truly distract us. Then their side had won? Oh the possibilities.

Another fun fact is that Germany used America's own telegram system, but was only caught because the British were being spying on the Americans. The British then had to come up with a way of delivering the Zimmerman telegram and the way of decoding it without revealing how they actually got it

Once in the past we fought and defeated the most powerful army in the world at that time (the french army, so we can fight and give a good match, but we are smart enough to take back our territory easily by invading it slowly over the years, and so far we are doing a good job

Germany: Quick! We have a secret plan that at most bolster our chances of winning or at worst buy us time against the US joining. Now just make sure that you do NOT f it up. Ok?
proceeds to send the telegram via British telegram lines

Considering Mexico was in the middle of a civil war, had little to no domestic arms production, and had decent amounts of natural resources I'm surprised the US didn't use the Zimmerman Telegram as casus belli to annex even more of Mexico.

Its crazy mexicos biggest opponent is itself. I hate to see my people putting on the struggle themselves because we're amazing fighters in combat but if were going against someone else and ourselves, well then how can you win?

It's crazy from an American perspective that the time between winning those lands from Mexico and WWI was only 60 years. And America was removed from the Civil War by less than only 50 years when the great war broke out

Fighting a war is easy. Winning a war is a different matter altogether. History Matters giving us a wise aphorism to live by there.
PS: I know I've paraphrased it. I had to generalize it to make it an aphorism.

Mexico didn't want those problems. the ONLY way Mexico would be if the Mexican president possessed Thor's Hammer, The Power Cosmic, the Cosmic Cube, the Infinity Gauntlet and the
M'Kraan Crystal.

really is silly of the Germans to try to carve up the US and use the same Great Power tactics against America as they did everyone else. They had no idea who they were dealing with, evidently.

So if the telegram never went through, because the obvious goal was just to slow down the US, then Germany might have won the war since the US was never going to join without this clear push

The Zimmerman Telegram without intervention would have screwed Mexico far worse than it already was. They made a right choice to not attack or Mexico today would be a US territory.

You missed a major reason why Mexico didn't invade, the continental USA has clay for days, you can't conquer parts of it without ending up with longer, indefensible landborders.

1. They saw that they wouldn't win and then get what Japan got probably.
2. Or Germany eventually would betray when the war was over.
