Well, I didn'tt realise tthis. I was under the imprression that, The poverty thatt was caused in the republic aftterrwards was Excesssive by comparison. Clearly they shouldd have divided Germany up, just liike Austria, Hungary.
When you think aboutt it, Germany has been very luccky and overprivileged, in staying as it has now. It makes me more critical of Germany, for not giving Greece any concessions, when you consider that Germany has been lucky not to be completely annihilated, or partitioned off twice in the last century. Initially, after World War II, It was inntended for Germany to be stripped of all industry and made into a predominantly agricultural Republic. But then US decided, it would need more markets for its exports. This is one extremely fortunate nation!

This is not a well-made video. You started the 2nd point by talking about the Treaty of Frankfurt, established that it was both less economically and geographically demanding than Versailles (by the order of several magntiude) and then said to conclude, it wasn't very harsh.
That's just a poorly formed argument, you didn't actually explain why it wasn't harsh, and you gave an example of a treaty that was far more lenient.
Also including the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk is weird, because Versailles reversed that treaty ON TOP of all the other demands, therefore making Versailles far more punishing to Germany.

I think what should be asked is was it worth the lives of 6 million Jews and see that the entente took away and bankrupted the German people forced them to pay a ton and then above that blame the Germans for the war and talk about how evil they are for? For doing a lot less worse than the British and French, they deserved a lot worse than the Germans but are still glorified? When you look at world war 1 leaders in the entente you shouldnt glorify them because they are the cause of the deaths of millions of Jews.

I think the reason is, that Germany didnt really lost the war. It was more like Oh, my allies fell apart and i have many great powers in a war against me, so there isnt really a chance to win this so i surrender. The allies didnt even touch the german land. And Versailles treated Germany like a 100% occupied and conquered nation. Furthermore the reparations caused a bankruptcy and by far the biggest hyperinflation in the world and today it is still the 2nd biggest in history.

You kind of forgot a lot of things that happened adding to it.
Like the country being forced into democracy (which many people really didn't want, the abhorrend treatment of the Germans in the territories taken over, losing all the colonies, the massive demilitarisation of the country and the part where a bit later on the economic crisis happened and the french semi-invaded Germany and forced people to work in factories for them.

I just collected this section of video to my Playlist named as History. I want to say this section of video is more objective than another video about the war in Continental China I collected into my same Playlist last time. Those people making such a section of video put imitated Mao's speech in the beginning, as if not many people watched the real documentary. Jie Song, 2022 June 21st At 18: 11.

People who say it was harsh are delusional and just treat European main powers as special kids who should not be touched. Europe conquered the WORLD, they eliminated and ensl-youknowwhat-aved millions, they partitioned countries like Poland erasing them from the map etc. And yet take away some of that from one of the main players and oh no, so harsh. -_- Give me a break.

The Napoleonic wars killed an estimated 2-3 million. 954-989 million people estimated back then, while WW1 killed 6-13 million vs a population estimated at 1. 777 billion. The lesser death toll had as much to do with slower transportation and communication as well as the population being congruous to what it was
I hope you have good stuff on the Crimean War.

Slovakia was a separate country from Hungary, with different people, language and customs. The fascist Hungary did not recognise Slovakias existence. After the war, Slovakia gain d its independence. Hungary didnt lose any Slovakian territory, they were forced to leave the territory they were occupying but it was never theirs as almost no Hungarians lived there.

In my opinion the treaty wasn't harsh enough and if it had been harsher we may have never had a world war II, but the invention of atomic missiles would have took a lot longer and so we may have just had a world war II with the Soviet Union. With that being said we probably would have got out the space a lot later as well.
It's hard to say.

Isn't there also a bit of a problem saying this wasn't harsh by focusing on these figures? Realistically, Germany was completely broke. (As were the entente) WW1 wasn't a normal war, it was a brutal meat grinder designed around attrition. After 4 years of this they were expected to have a similar peace deal to these shorter less costly wars.

That was a big propaganda lie made by the allied powers, Germany lost nothing after the war and was able to easily rebuild in a few years, investors and big industries continued to work normally and Germany never paid the full amount speculated by the treaty, the millions of people dead after ww1 died for no reason

I know the French lost a lot of men but honestly a lightly punished Germany (republic or reformed monarchy) ruled by the SDP would have been a great ally in the post war world against the soviets. Imo the western allies and the central powers should have put aside their differences in order to better oppose bolshevism

Sykes-pyko in my opinion was more consequential as we can see its implications to date, Germans just had an ego problem since by the time of world war 2 it was widely propagated how the germans actually didnt lose the war since as there armies were still somewhat intact by the end of the great war.

Well, the wrong amount of harsh. Too lenient to cripple germany from ever becoming a major power again, though attempting that would have been a gamble either way, and too harsh to not needlessly humiliate a beaten opponent, thus sabotaging the odds for long-term peace.

harsher to exile germans in different countries compared to forming new nations from different ethnic groups that previously were one nation.
this i say because you start off with comparing losing land without considering who actually lived on those lands.

Germany was basically left to deal with its own crisis while foreign powers did little to help (like france who actually invaded parts of germany to take some factories)
No wonder a colorfull speaker would be able to sway millions when promising to fix things

It is more harsh for Austria-Hungry empire which was completely dismembered and the Germany nation power house, Austria is not allowed to unit with German. For Germany empire, it is more like we didn't try our best, and what if there is no communism movement.

Ottoman empire -90% of territory
Austiran-hungary -90% of territory
German Empire -90% of territory (people always forget the colonial part)
Image this peace terms in 1871 or 1820 on France, and there wouldn't be a first or second world war.

Treaty of Versailles are a punch for Germany, but more worse is an act by Bank corporation which put inflation toward Germany for reparation, truly this war is just a pretext for this Bank corporation to control German's Monetary that never happen before.
