To be fair, the danish navy had been downrigged and grounded for winter when Nelson attacked Copenhagen. Denmark actually had a formidable navy at the time, and Nelson was concerned about facing them in conventional naval battle. So he waited untill late fall and it payed off, denmark had to put their ships in the strait as mastless block ships wich were easy targets. It payed off and Denmark had to surrender. But the gamble did cost a few british warships who got lost due to heavy storms on the way home!

Greenland has wanted its independence for some time now. but the conversation always goes:
- We want our independence.
- Sure, were just gonna retract the huge grants, as youre no longer part of the Danish realm
- Damn you Danes! We hate you, but you got us this time.

Things that most people think it is that Denmark owns Greenland but it is not true yes we have an agreement with them But they do not own us example Denmark must not make an airline in Greenland You must not build things without Greenland in Greenland and Denmark must always ask us if they do anything in Greenland

It's not entirely clear why there were no Danes in Greenland as of the 16th century when it was resettled. The Inuits living there had no history of ever encountering them, but there are Inuit tales from the Baffin Islands of strange men believed to be Norse traders.

I thought it was a series of bad investments, the Crown Prince of Sweden tried cornering the cod market in the 1600s and he went long only to have the bottom drop out of the market. Either that or Greenland was part of a wedding dowery

So technically, DENMARK is the LARGEST COUNTRY In the WORLD if it includes GREENLAND. Also, TRUMP offered to buy GREENLAND since the land is rich in SILICON and other valuable resources.
