Just one amusing fact to note: the Mensheviks were quite comfortable with their inconvenient name, because in fact this party was much bigger than the Bolsheviks (and the name basically relates to one vote when they split where the Bolsheviks were indeed the majority in the assembly)

Why do communist partys always have such ridiculously unwieldy names, I presume it's a result of direct translation but it always appears funny to me. It's never just Communist Party but is always something like The National Unity of Workers Guild Communist Party.

Oddly enough the Menshivek's were more numerous when the split happened meaning the minority were the majority and vice versa. I was told this by Oversimplified.
